No seeds on ipomea purpurea?

I've checked my common purple ipomea purpurea, which has had tons of flowers, but now the leaves are beginning to wilt and die, and it still hasn't produced any pods. Is this common? I was hoping to maybe try some expirements with LSA. Cold water extract with lemon juice, and evaporate and consume, or just drink the water. I think that'd help nausea.

As far as I know, Ipomoea purpurea has no useful levels of LSA.

Yeah, I've heard it go both ways. As for you seeds problem, I had a problem myself with Heavenly Blue. I had one huge vine last year that was going absolute nuts blooming but put out no seed whatsoever. This year I planted a number of vines and they did put out seed, not a ton, but some seed. So I believe having several different plants aids in pollination.

If you don't plant them out earely enough or provide full sun you'll have that problem. My first year, I barely got any seeds. The pods developed but they didn't ripen early enough. I waited tilt he weatehr was warm. Purpurea seeds can survive frost, so the earlier the better. Mine reseed themselves now. In fact, this year I had some decent size seedlings growing from seed dropped this fall when the cold weather came. In the spring, I let them do their thing and then thin them out. But the key is early and lots of light.

I'm gonna try to get my hands on some rivea seeds hopefully before spring hopefully. At least it'd give alot more reward for the time. Rivea corymbosa seeds aren't illegal like MG's right? As long as they aren't in some extracted form?
My MG's basically got pulverized by the frost from just one night and all their cells ruptured, completely dropped dead on the spot from being really healthy. Anyway to protect fragile vines from this sort of thing? They were attached to a metal gate though, so that's probably why.

MG isn't illegal in the US. I have also heard of a lot of people having trouble getting their riveas to flower. If you get it to flower and seed, I'd be surprised if the yield was more than an MG seed yield.
Maybe put towels or blankets over them but I don't think there's any likelyhood of them surviving the winter outdoors. Morning glory is as annual as they come.

Yeah but riveas are alot more potent so the same amount=alot more, and I'd save a few seeds to plant next year.

^Sorry for the bump but I didn't want to start a new thread. I've been reading and it sounds like riveas don't flower much at all. I live in DFW would riveas not flower this far north? Would I be just better of buying seeds and using those?
