about 20 days of incubation here. are these guys ready to birth? growth has really slowed and you can still see a little verm poking through the mycelium. thoughts? first attempt here. they dont look contaminated either do they?

Wait one week after 100% of the surface is covered with mycelium, so that it can consolidate it's hold on the substrate, then birth.

why do you have the foil still on the top?
if you have the dry verm layer on top of your cake there is no need for the foil.

Yeah with the verm layer that is your filter, also not having the tinfoil promotes beter gas exchange (not enough the myc will stall)
Also remember that there is a dry layer verm ontop which will not colinise, so its possible what you think should have colinsed is just dry verm.
Those look mostly colinised, remove the foil from the lids (to expose the inoc holes) i would give it a few more days as there does look like a few spots at the top thats not colinsed.
You can also try flipping them upside down to releave a bit of pressure that may be on the bootom of the substrate./
If they have stalled then its possible to birth, any uncolinised area you can cut out.

What Veda said.
PS: It's colonized Veda, as in colonization, not colinised as in Colin.
Muahahaha the spelling nazi attacks again
