Corner the markets right? Haha with that kind of money you might as well take over the entire markets of gold, silver, platinum, palladium and you'd still be swimming in cash.

In 2005 the World Gold Council estimated total global gold supply to be 3,859 tonnes
Thats 120 million troy ounces, or at the current price it would be worth about 100 billion dollars, just 0.1% of your capital. (yes, at one time Bill Gates has as much money as the worth of all the gold in the world) You don't want all the gold in the world though, because then the worldwide gold trade would cease (no one has it but you) and what an ounce would be worth then would be anyone's guess. But let's say 25% of all the gold? (0.025% of your capital) yes, you'd definitely want that.
I was just poking a bit of fun at you. lol. I crack myself up.

i would start laying fiber to every door in the world, then i would set up the infrastructure to be able to supply every individual with free broadband access to information. then everyone that cant afford a laptop will be given a free one with a way to mechanically power it (hand crank.) i would give this away for as long as it takes to run the other telcos out of the internet business, then start charging the people in industrialized countries just enough to cover the expenses of giving the flow of knowledge to the poor. run it as a non-profit. then, every time a band came up for auction, i would buy it and turn it over to open source developers to play with under gpl style licensing.
now that i have the world connected, i would get the best scientists, authors, tradesmen, etc to record classes. i mean the best of the best. i would offer those for free to anyone wanting them over the broadband that everyone now has. so now, even a poor kid in the congo can watch a class on robotics recorded by a prof at MIT... or whatever. i believe that, if the world can have free access to information and any resource a person needs o learn anything, knowledge and openness will beget knowledge and openness.
then i will sit back and watch what i had created... while doing 2 chicks at the same time.

I would pay everyone in the world to come together and do something, maybe a dance, maybe a gesture, all at the same time, right after smoking salvia. I would make sure everyone would get fed and would be able to get back home.

I would make sure that nobody on the planet ever went hungry again. Then I would invest money in AIDS prevention and the destruction of preventable disease in all countries around the world. With capitol like that, I think anyone could do enough to make sure that the world was considerably better for everyone. I would probably buy the rest of the world's oil supply and shoot it at the sun or something too. Fuck funding alternative energy research, necessity is the mother of invention, not subsidy.
