btw .......where does one get low form jars. do they colonize faster than the taller variety. A freind needs one for his home made jelly.

The short 1/2 pint jars are called the wide mouth 1/2 pint jar.

The tall 1/2 pint jars are called regular mouth 1/2 pint jar.

both work fine.....the wide mouth (shorty) seem to colonize faster....IME

Walmart has them....True Value Hardware sometimes.....canning season is around the corner so Supermarkets will be having them in stock.
So stock up people!
