Ear Piercing Question

I'm going to get my ears pierced for the first time fairly soon and eventually I want to get some plugs. These things:

Obviously they can't gouge out a hole big enough for something that size at first. So, my question is, do they make plugs small enough for a first time piercing? If not, do I need to just get some faggy earring and work my way up to the good ones?

They'll pierce it with a 14 gauge needle at first, then you can work your way up from there.

you can get weighted dumbbells to stretch it out for the first while if you can't fit in a gauge at first.

dude - consider how that will look as A) an old man B) if you get a "good job" that wont allow you to wear them, your ear lobes will look like long turkey waddles. <shudder>
think before you pierce.

It goes back. It doesn't stay stretched out.
My girlfriends gauge, after she stopped wearing it for a while, stopped fitting, and she had to go with a smaller one until it got back up to size.

I have 000g and the way i see it is if some fucking job wants to judge me by what type of jewelery i wear rather than the quality of my character then i dont need to work for them. and as far as what it will look like when you get old, it wont be so bad.

umm, might want to look into that a bit more - Maybe on a very young person it may shrink up a bit - but I'm talking about wide gauges on a 35 year old aint gonna shrink back up - Not that I watch often, but a few times ive seen on that show "Dr 90210" has a million patients coming in to reattach earlobes on 40 somethings that had them stretched in their early 20's.
Im not trying to rain on the OP's parade - but body modification is just that - it s a commitment ppl take way too lightly.

im pretty sure they will shrink depending on how big you go. At some point you'll blow out your lobe, that's when you need corrective surgery.

i suppose your right on that. but I sort of think of tattoos and piercings like that as a reminder of when you got them. Not as something you should regret. Given, lots of people do regret getting them.
Maybe it's how long you have them in for? She didn't have them in for too long whenever she stopped wearing them, and i bet her earlobe didn't adjust to it at that point? I'm thinking the longer you have them in, the less and less it will go back to normal.
ts727, gauges on girls is really nice. Second to dreadlocks for me. I don't know why, but I'm a bitch for dreadlocks on girls. It's just so appealing to me.

you actually can get a hole that big to start... but, it's dermal-punched an permanent.. it will never shrink back at all, like stretching will.
I pierced my lobes w/ a 4ga.. stretched to a 0 pretty easily over about 6 months.
if you go to a good place, they can pierce with a needle up to a 2ga, i think.. but will probably recommend you go w/ a 4.

they say if you go 00 or bigger, you'll never close all the way back up. That's if you stretch them slowly and properly to a 0. If you stretch them too quickly, you'll get keyloids(sp?) and scarring that will not allow for your holes to shrink back.
I did mine nice and slow over 6-8 months, and have no scarring at all. I take my plugs out every night, and in the morning i can notice shrinking when i put them back in..

I'm at 0g too, about the point where they could still heal up and still look fairly large. I just take my plugs out at work and they dont look any different than regular pierced ears unless your up close.
