What's multispore? I just read about it in the main site, I'm lost.

I don't know the difference between multi and isolated spores. I have ordered them online before, I have done and LC before. Still I don't know if the spores I ordered were multi or iso.
Any help is appreciated

if your using spores, its multi spore. Isolating strains of mycelium is done on agar, and is quite the process.

So is multi better or isolated?
Edited: I get it (quite the process) meaning it's better.
Thanks. Not that good to use Agar yet. Still a Noob. Had to throw everything away from contaminates. Not to happy.

Isolate is much better. Multispore is a roll of the dice in terms of genetics. Isolates and clones can insure the best genetics in each harvest.

Multi = lots spore = spore (lol)
You inject lots of spores. Spores are the breeding mechanism of fungi.
Imagine you want to create a superhuman hitler style.
You could get a couple of people and have them have kids. Some would be blond, some would be tall, some would be short, some would be ugly (but they will both have something in common with both parents). That would be multispore. You don't know if you will get the superhuman shroom or the ugly, limping, impotent and short shroom.
On the other hand if you wanted to get superhumans consistently you would clone an already existing superhuman and make multiple copies. That is your isolate. You get a shroom with the qualities you desire and make more copies of it to use to inoculate your substrate so all you get are superhuman shrooms.

Leave it to Nibin to cut through the bs and go straight to the point.

Great Metaphore right there!
What was once eugenics is now the human genome project! Woot-woot! Your posts usually are quite helpful by the way Nibin.
So grow a few times until your ready to clone something you like. Then cut out a piece of it's gut in sterile conditions and throw that puppy into a petri dish to grow!
Don't forget to do your research first! Research, research, research.

Well I'm stil really new. Only had One casing that did 2 flushes then got a bunch of gnats or little fruit flys so I tossed it. I had about 12 jars inoculating they were all contaminated.
I'm starting from scratch. Right now I have 2 half gallon jars of Rye that are about a week away from full inoculation. I just need to get some Hpoo and a tub to make a monotub.
Thanks for the help guys, I'm actually suprised that no one said anything negative, because I have well over a hundred post and I still didn't know what multispore was.
I've seen the process of isolation done on youtube. Of course I would need more sterile conditions.
Thanks again
