Nope not that I recall.... I remember mostly white birch and some grey trees..... Here are two more picture. I have no idea what these baby shrooms are but they were in the same area as the Fly and the other picture is of the woods these shrooms were found.

Man, my brother lives in Juneau, and he's from Texas (mostly). I haven't been up to visit yet, but he has lived there for a LONG time (probably 20 years almost). He's semi-famous there, but only semi.
I doubt he'd be into mushrooms, though. He didn't like LSD the one time he tried it...

juneau doesn't have much in the way of landscaping, or at least it didn't when i moved away in the mid nineties. on the other hand, there are many places where people clear out alder, maple, etc and rent chippers to dispose of the debris, spreading it out or leaving it to decompose in heaps like mini slash piles. the climate is good and there have been active woodloving species established, at least transiently in a few areas of southeast over the years, according to some of our members here.
i'm still convinced that P. pelliculosa will occur there, and i plan to find them the next time i'm up that way.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
