CO2 and elevation?

I was wondering if lifting cakes/cased media above the bottom layer/level of the fruiting chamber would grant a little more time in between air exchanges. if i remember correctly the reason we fan is to remove the buildup of CO2 within the chamber (as created by the growing fungus). I recall the weight of CO2 as being heavier than that of o2 thereby displacing the oxygen. Now if your specimen was well above the lowest point within the terrarium, would this not grant you a little more time?

the logic is definitly correct but i think the terrarium would have to be giant for it to grant you any significant time increase between FAE's......try it only way to find out

I do believe I will have to. So you all can expect some results on this. I'll keep this updated with pics later.

The CO2 mixes with the air in the terrarium, which is never really still. Raising the cakes wouldn't make much difference. The CO2 doesn't really sink to the bottom and build up. RR
