Amazingly, media coverage does not equal votes. The only reason you think that is because the media told you to believe it

if you don't believe that substantial, positive MSM coverage equates to votes you're just kidding yourself.
not everyone votes for the media's sweetheart, but, conversely, barely anyone votes for the media pariah.

I eagerly await what all the Paulians will say the day after the Iowa caucus.
I'm sure it will then be a Big Gov't/MSM/Bush plot to rig the caucus.

hate Paul, but don't hate his supporters. you can't label them into one "thing" no matter how hard you try. he's got support coming from everywhere.

Ron Paul is likely to place in the top three/four in Iowa. There has been a lot of ground work in Iowa that just won't register in the polls, and I'm hoping it is substansial enough to show some results.
Regardless, Ron Paul has a solid standing right now, and even if he didn't have a strong showing in the first primary states, he'll still keep running. The prospects for New Hampshire look a lot better than Iowa, and if he took first or second in New Hampshire, and second to fourth in Iowa, he'll be developing some great momentum, and the media would have to consider him a viable candidate. A lot of media already does.
Perhaps some supporters get into conspiracy theory right now, and considering which special interests Ron Paul would cripple by becoming a formidable force for President, or even winning, at least they are basing it upon something. I don't think as much is true; I think the MSM isn't necessarily slanted agansit Ron Paul, but that, for them, it comes down to poll numbers.
I honestly think the poll numbers are slanted agansit Ron Paul's supporters the most, and it isn't intention, but simply the nature of the way in which these polls are taken. No conspiracy theory.

The word "conspiracy" is a bit strong for what is going on, but there is certainly an effort to minimize Paul in the media. Paul breaks a one day fundraising record for the second time in the same quarter and the big news of the day is that Hillary Clinton broke a nail and some dinky newspaper in the middle of nowhere endorsed John McCain. Polls tend to be a metric of name recognition with previous voters in the party. The polls measure who the media is pushing, and the media cover only the candidates at the top of the polls.

Unless something changes in the next few weeks, I honestly believe he will do much better than the establishment expects. Of course, I could be very wrong. Time will tell...

just like any "out there" candidate the media will make fun of them. they did the same thing to several candidates last elections. its fun to make fun of the guy who has no chance to win. just ask al sharpton(sic).

Too bad about the writers' strike... I wonder if Jon Stewart would have mentioned anything about it.
