Best way to lose weight => Great diet

You only need moderate daily exercise, and a very good diet.  I think the key to weight loss is to burn more calories than you intake per day.  So if you have negative net calories for the day, your body will burn fat for energy. 

The inverse is also true for bulking up.  You need positive net calories to gain weight.

But really, if you have a decent diet and do alot of cardio, you should be shedding pounds quite easily. :shrug:

Base your diet on lean proteins, vegetables, whole wheat foods, as little sugar as you can handle, etc. 

Also, eat smaller portions, but more often.  So, instead of eating 2 big meals, eat 3 smaller meals with snacks in between (such as almonds or bananas).  This will keep your metabolism stoked.

And also, interval training seems to be the best method for rapid weight loss. Instead of running at a constant intensity for a long time, try to change it up.  Run 1 mile to get warmed up.  Let your heartrate settle down a little.  Then run high intensity sprints, resting between sets.  The key to interval training is the raising and lowering of your heartrate.  You spike it with the high intensity sprints, and while you're resting, it settles down.  If you're into running and want to lose pounds, definitely check out interval training.  I personally think it's much more fun than long distance moderate intensity shiz

to help you control your apetite a bit drink about 3-4 cups of water as a first thing in the morning and in between the meals. you can drink some green teA to help burning calories before any sport activity.
should help you out.

Stop drinking POP - or anything AT ALL with GLucose-Fructose.
This chemical slows your metabolism down...dont drink diet pop either, its the same if not worse.

diet and exercise together are key. just watch what you eat. i now model my diet after a combination of four principles: macrobiotic, paleo, vegetarian and raw diets. i find that with these diffrent diets mixed up, i get a huge variety of the healthiest ways to eat. never bored with food this way.

other tips, stop eating as many refined foods as possible, stick to foods closest to the way nature made them. quit drinking sugary drinks, limit fruit juices to one glass a day. drink more water and teas in place of other drinks. quit eating candy and other deserts/snacks.

and as far as exercise, running is good, however you need more. throw some daily stretching and bodyweight exercises(pushups, situps, chinups, pullups, handstands etc.) in with that, maybe a little light weight work.

Look at my full body cleanse thread. the lemonade diet can have you losing up to 2 pounds a day and is really easy.

Just eat good, man. No offense, but every health and fitness post you make you ALWAYS try to cut corners. And then when people offer you advice (which you request), you refute it with excuses.

Don't go on shitty herbal tea diets or follow any fads. Just eat smaller, proportionate meals and get in a little exercise here and there. It's not hard.

Easy steps to increase control over your body:

1. Always keep water around, no matter what, have water close to you. Its a learned human reaction to feel hunger when in fact the body is just thirsty. Also, a dehydrated body is an inefficient one.

2. Cut all empty carbs out entirely. Sodas are fine, just make sure they're diet.

3. Fiber, Fiber, Fiber! Proper digestion is paramount. Best way is to introduce roughage into your diet (lots of lettuce, bran, etc), next best way is to drink a glass of metamucil (psyllium husks) every night before bed.

4. Balance your diet. No protein without carbs, no carbs without fiber. No heavy foods right before bed. Multivitamin every day.

5. Weight train + Cardio whenever you want.

6. If you're constipated, have a double shot of senna tea. It will blow your soul right out of your colon and teach you a lesson about proper diet. Its so fuckin unpleasant that it regulates its own usage.

7. Eat only when you're hungry, hence the water. The lots of small meals thing is accurate, but when you're hungry, eat. You need to keep your metabolism in its sweet spot. Too much food and you gain weight, too little food and you slow your metabolism.

I train regularly for MMA events. You don't need supplements or ridiculous regimes, just be aware of what you put into your body.

Diet is more important. But exercise is important as well...

Basically what most everyone said in this thread is good advice.
Eat healthy balanced meals. Cut out refined sugars/refined flours/greasy shit/hydrogenated oils/caffeine/etc.
Eat plenty of vegetables, especially leafy green ones.
Eat fruit.
Drink LOTS of water. If you get tired of water drink an herbal tea. Use honey instead of sugar to sweeten things.
It's not that hard to eat healthy, you just have to want to.

2.) Caloric Deficy (you will not burn fat unless your body NEEDS to)

losing FAT is one of the easiest things ever IF YOU ARE DEDICATED !

i can give you sound advice if you want to, however you have to be sure of one thing,
gaining the weight was much more fun than losing it. you will have to work for this,

Keep your insulin under control, and stay active. THE way to lose fat.


Diet is extremely important, so gather all the info on that you can. I recommend also reading Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes. It's not that long, and you can get it at your library.

Lifting weights, playing sports, cardio, and simply being active are all good.


When I'm on a cutting phase, I follow a diet where ~65% of my calories come from fat, 30% come from protein, and 5% come from carbs which are all pretty much just calorically sparse veggies. This is what I eat anyway, so only the calorie amount varies. I try to get 2 or more hours of fasted cardio (walking no more than 5mph) in every morning. I lift hard four days a week, and cycle on and off an Ephedrine/Caffeine/Green Tea stack. The results are nothing short of fantastic.

I'd post a picture, but don't have access to a camera. However, I have an old progress picture where I'm pretty lean if you want me to post that.

I went on a ten day water-only fast once and lost 10 pounds. So adding any form of calories would certainly not magically double the weight loss.

oh, your wrong.

being on "water only" will strain you of all energy, therefor your body will turn down its metabolism to accomodate to the energy loss somewhen.

if supply the lemonade calories, you'd trick it into believing it gets energy again and therefor changing the metabolism.

however this needs planning and is used by anybody dieting low carb, its called a "Carb up day" where you consume
the carbohydrates, get the body out of the fasted state and fireing up again just to cut them
next day again and continue burning fat.

1. Don't starve yourself. You will fuck up your metabolism and harm your body.
2. Eat a healthy, natural, and balanced diet.
3. Don't eat garbage. If man made it then don't eat it.
4. Move everyday.

Lemonade diets and such are a joke. Please don't do them.

The EC works pretty well. As for an energy boost, eh... at first. I have energy either way. I notice sometime I prefer not to be on it because it makes me feel too wired rather than full of energy.

To those who went on a fast for more than a few days and lost "ten pounds" or so....I hate to break the bad news to you.

But that was water weight. Your body used it's glycogen stores (from your carbohydrate intake) which accounts for 3-4 pounds of water per pound of glycogen.

Water weight loss is much different than fat loss.

juice fasts are good for one thing. cleansing your digestive system out. thats it. doing it to lose weight is not a smart idea.

not to mention, if you do a fast of any kind, it should be with water AND fresh vegetable juices. you should not have more than ONE glass of fruit juice a day, or you risk screwing up your blood sugar levels, which wreaks havoc on your body.

i would also suggest not doing much while on a fast. definately do not work out, or heavy work of any kind. i wouldnt suggest much more than walking.

and Chazzersize, if youre on a WATER diet, most of the weight lost is not water, it is the food and garbage that is backed up in your digestive tract. most americans have an average of 10-15 lbs of shit(no pun intended) in their intestines. some people with poor diets can have as much as 20-30lbs of backed up fecal matter and food in there. there have been even higher documented amounts.

you lose water weight through strenuous exercise, not water fasts.

An ECA stack will do absolute wonders for short term weight loss and appetite control. If you are hypersensitive to stimulants or have an addictive personality, stay the fuck away.

Ephedrine - 25 MG
Caffeine - 200 MG
Aspirine - 325 MG

not at all. lazy mans diet. my buddy's wife did this and dropped about 15 lbs. put it back on faster than she dropped it when she stopped taking the pills.

The reason why they put the weight back on was because they didn't stick to to a reasonable diet.

The EC stack is awesome at helping with weight loss. Just be careful with it, and cycle it. And don't be a douche when it comes to food, or you'll never succeed.

It's working for me.  I ran at 3, then 5, now 6 miles 5 days of the week, and I eat really healthy now.  I've been doing it for about 2 months now  and I'm 25 lbs lighter.  :thumbup:  It's really the best way.
