Oh no! Another Contam Question!

I'm sure some people get tired of seeing these, however, I always enjoy taking a peek into others' grows. I've never experienced mycellial formation like this, and am wondering whether I should concern it more as contam, less like myc. Its extremely fluffy, whispy, or hairy. It is white, however appears gray due to its incredibly thin nature atop the black casing mix. Does that make sense?
Heres some pix, any advice would be wonderful. thank you thank you thank you.

It looks a bit suspicious to me too. I'm not sure if its myc or something else that might chuck of some green spores soon. I'd be tempted to isolate it from the other trays as a precaution.

Looks like cobweb to me, try spraying it with a diluted h202(peroxide and water). I'm not sure of the correct formula.. I just add about 3 % of whatever sprayer I'm using but do a search and you should find it easy enough. If it is cobweb it should shrink up and dissappear, cobweb = curable, goodluck hope this helped.

That looks kinda like mine, I would guess it's cobweb too, it got all 16 of my 1/4 pints and I just tossed them out before realizing it was curable but I probably wouldn't have wanted to deal with doing the peroxide thing on all 16 jars but then again I'm new so I'll watch this thread for more replies... Here is a pic of what mine looked like on top and that same jar on it's sides, yours might also have white patches like this on the inside of the casing so I don't know how viable that peroxide treatment will be... Good luck, it would suck if you had to chuck that whole casing. It sure hurt throwing out all 16 jars for me.

Thats cobweb in your jars, your dry verm filter doesnt look very dry. If it gets wet, contams can easily grow threw it and into your substrate.
I wouldnt try and save a colinised jar.
Cobweb on casings is recoverable.

You shouldn't dilute peroxide when treating for cobweb. The stuff in the bottle is only 3% peroxide to start off with.
To treat for cobweb (not saying that the stuff in the pics is cobweb) spray with peroxide as it comes in the bottle 3 times, with 12 hours between each spraying.

Well I have read that too much H2O2 can be harmful to mycelium. So I diluted mine and it worked fine, best advice I can give is, don't put yourself in the situation to contract cobweb, sterile is sexy in this business.
Good luck JCLE

Being sterile has nothing to do with cobweb, which is what is above. You can't have a sterile growing area. Fresh air exchange is the best way to prevent it because Dactylium loves stale, still air.
3% peroxide is the correct dilution to use to kill cobweb. In the US, it's already diluted to 3% when you buy it at drug and grocery stores. If you live in a country where it's stronger, dilute with distilled water to get the 3% peroxide you need. RR
