Flash fire in glovebox

Lets say a fellow built a very nice glovebox and wiped it down with rubbing alcohol sprayed some Lysol and oust in there and waited ten minutes well upon return this person is getting ready to flame a needle and boom a large flash fire and no more hair on this guys arms. just realized the oust and Lysol are very flammable was wondering if he would have just used alcohol to clean the glove box if this would have happened. and hope whoever reads this learns something from the dumb asses mistake.

Take comfort in knowing that you are not the only person who has done this. Do a seach for it.
Glove boxes work because they keep the air from moving any mold or bacteria spores into your jars, or onto your syringe.
YOU DON'T NEED OUST OR LYSOL, or any flamable material in your glove box.
Just wash it out with soap and water, wipe dry with a fresh paper towel, and use a long stemmed grill lighter for a couple seconds on your needle.
OR a alcohol wipe or sanatizer gel on your needs with NO lighter.
One or the other, but not both.
Clean work should be done in a draft free enviroments.
Chemicals with fumes should not be used in a draft free enviroments.
Use your head, you'll get it figured out.

Do you realize that alcohol is also highly flammable?

Alcohol will not clean the inside of a needle so if you are using a needle you have to flame it.

i had actually used one before that was cleaned with just alcohol and flamed in it with no problem but i sat down and watched tv about 30 mins before going to work so i guess thats why i didnt have a combustion then and that one wasnt as air tight this one was extremely air tight. least i didnt kill the lc that was in there lol hmm soap and water....still air...flame needle before hand i guess i need to lay off the xanax lol thanks it makes me feel good that im not the only one who did this now how to explain my hairless arms during the holiday with the family this'll be fun

If it makes you feel any better while on acid one time i took about 1,000 matches and said to my friend... Hey if we put all these in a blender we can make match powder...
We all do dumb things, I can also think of a time I got startled and gabbed a 18g needle in my leg

That's what the last 10 guys said too! It doesn't work when people don't do all the proper research on gloveboxes.
And it's not just a "glovebox" it's a "still air glovebox". Like others have said, IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE SANITARY. Just clean it real basic... Still air is the key to it's effectivness. Flame the needle inside safely with no fuel air bomb.
I like the idea of a little animated flame next to all their names.

lol
First glove box I ever used, I got stoned and decided to sterilize a syringe to innoc some jar's 5 minutes after a alcohol wipe down, forgot fire+combustible liquid = hair free arms.
Worst part is when you wipe your hands and arms down with alcohol prior to working, trying to pat out one flaming arm with another flaming arm doesn't work so well...
Good work man, you are not alone

Water based sanitizer gel. No flame sterilization. The kind with the little hand pump like hand soap. Not one contamed jar inoculation to date.
