DinoMyc: He ain't talking about engineering, he is talking (out his ass IMO) about DNA sequencing. A huge undertaking for an entire genome, but not exactly difficult nor particularly expensive on a per run basis.

There is a HUGE difference between DNA sequenceing and DNA assembling.

I'm not trying to have a pissing contest with anyone. This research is for my personal enjoyment and curiosity, I did not think that explaning ribosomal protein L30, or IMP synthase or ARS (autonomouslyreplicatingsequence) elements.
cubenisis sequence Gene / chromosome SAP1 6 SAP2 R SAP3 3 SAP4 6 SAP5 6 SAP6 6 SAP7 1 SAP8 6 SAP9 6
This is not 100% , all I wanted was to know what mushrooms any one has grown and there favorable traits. If you are not going to do anything constructive, than I really don't need your insults.

isn't l30 only from yeast? The first seven chromosomes you list are from Candida Albicans... If you are serious, and have access to such a lab, by all means we will help you. It seems strange to me that someone would come here asking about what traits were considered beneficial if they were in your position. If one does mycological DNA sequencing research professionally, and has access to an illegal (in most countries of the world) mushroom?s DNA, it would be logical that they have some sense of what traits are considered beneficial for any mushroom, more importantly these ones, and the obviously desired trait of additional active chemical production. I do not do fungal DNA research, nor do any of my friends, but I do have friends who are well experienced in DNA research and manipulation. I have discussed the possibility of manipulating DNA for this purpose, and the resounding answer was 'not now'. If you would be so kind as to give us some information regarding what exactly you are doing as your hobby, perhaps we could offer you some better responses.

I just finished doing some work with the full sequence of lactobacillus acidophilus. As a result, I happen to have all of the software for this kind of thing. If you really have some hard data, I'd love to take a look at it.

There are very few people here (if any) that have any sort of knowledge to make calls about whether this is a windup or not. The rest of you (including myself) best keep our mouth shut and avoid offending a guy who has done nothing to deserve abuse. Polite skepticism is all very good but some of you are bordering on rude.
Chill out....
