Timeline of a New Grower w/pics Update: Incubator box w/pics 1

Ok let me state all of the variables, Most are around Ideal... I Used the PF-TEK method, BRF + Vermiculite My Incubator: its a cardboard box with a small home stereo receiver in the bottom of it for heat and a fan in the side for fresh air. Temp 81F, Rh 60% (Which is great considering it has been snowing here for the last few weeks) My Automated FC: Temp 69F to 75F Rh 92%-98% Perlite bed w/Coolmist Vaporizer and CPU fan @3.0V for constant FAE, A 24" 15 watt Florescent plant grow light on a 12/12 timer for Light.
This Pic shows my Progress by day 5
This is my Automated FC and some of the first cakes to be birthed. Only 2 weeks after Inoculation!

These are close up pics of some of the cakes at 5 Days in the FC ( It took 5 more days to actually see Pins)
These are the first Pins I saw @ Day 10 in the FC... From Left to Right Keepers Creepers, A Treasure Coast (This cake split in the Dunk) and Colorado Cubes.
These are Ban Hua Thanon Cakes that are in my Martha Tub (Manual FC) Nice Pinset!!
 Only Two More Days!
 One more Day for These!
One cake was ready One Wasnt Quite ready.. I will get it tomorrow.
It Is Possible for a newbie to achieve success within 1 months time. As this was my First Grow Ever. The Processes are simple, and the methods are tried and true. PAY ATTENTION TO STERILITY!!! And You WILL SUCCEED...
Time and Patients are a great Virtue in this Hobby
EDIT: Here is my Incubator Box...
The Box...When its Empty... The Receiver (an old Pioneer 5.1) and CPU Fan
The fan is used to circulate fresh and cool air into the incubator, otherwise the jars on the bottom get too hot and the ones on top stay cool, but not too cold.
I keep the jars upright in the carton they were purchased in, until I begin to see signs of growth... Then I loosen the lids and flip them over for gas exchange. E.g. C02 is heavier than Air. I do not remove the foil at any point in the grow until birthing. Its a cold Colorado winter so I keep a thermometer in there just to keep an eye on temp. Rh is usually 40-70% whatever we have for the day here so I put my hygrometer back into my Martha tub.
I do a lot of time tracking and Record keeping, If you have any other questions, Ask... I will try to provide an over elaborate answer. Lol

great post. Although your cakes were too dry, i do not care what the hydrometer said. You see how you only got a few mushrooms and that they only formed on the area with vermiculite. This is because the verm aided in raising the humidity in that area which formed pins. Cubes should have pinned on the whole cake, they do not require casing to fruit.

I do have an adjustable Coolmist Vaporizer (the ultrasonic type) and i keep it at around 50%. Anywhere after where it is set it makes so much mist the cakes cant be seen through the side with the light on or off. Is that technically a good thing or a bad thing? Should I turn it up more?
Any tips would be appreciated to make future grow go better.

the air has high humidiity but the surface of the cakes do not. get them wet once in while and they will pin more

Looking at your time line on top, you began seeing growth at day 2 and fully colonized by day 10? What strain are you using and how much solution did you inject in each jar? It seems incredibly fast!!! Good job keeping a record tho, along with pics. Awesome and congrats!

It has been fast not insomuch as because of the strain but due to the fact that he kept all his temperatures in the ideal range etc.

My temp range is identical and I only start to see some myc after a week or so.. I would think he must have:
- Pumped over 1cc of solution in each jar - Had a lot of spores per CC like a T.H.E. syringe (dark) or a custom print to syringe job - Good genetics
Just noticed he also had a fan inside his incubator for fresh air..? How does that play into the equation? I think a more detailed info about his incubator setup and how he has the jars is in order...

I keep pf cake jars in a closet in my sitting room, no heating, just the general house central heating.
I see growth after 3 days normally.
If in those conditions you are not seeing growth your substrate is probably not fluffy enough or over watered.

8 Strains actually... B+, Ban Hua Thanon, Blue Meanie, Colorado, Creepers, Penis Envy, Palenque, Treasure Coast. B+, Creepers and Colorados were the fastest Colonizers. Colorado, Palenque and Treasure Coast were the fastest to pin
I used 1cc per jar, 1/4cc per hole. I purchased the spore syringes from www.Spores101.com and they were pretty hefty as far as spores go but I dont truly know... This was my first experience in mycology. All I ever did before was consume purchased shrooms. This is way more cost effective
