I made this up a couple years ago..

Meyant (me-yant) - The sound of displeasure.

It's funny hearing friends say it to people that have no idea without realizing it.

But i'm suprised as hell that numbers got into the dic.

Chill out IMO!

woot is an awesome word. And it has about a billion appropriate uses.

I just don't think it should ever be said aloud...but I'm all for cyberwooting. That t at the end though, when coming out of someone's mouth...I mean we're talking about some pretty unavoidable spittle action here.

I don't think I've ever said it aloud. I sure do think it a lot though.

I did hear some guy saying pwned the other day though.
It's only a matter of time.

I'm gonna start using some of these words in college papers. When they tell me it's not a word, I'll be like "Yeah it is, look it up in the dictionary, bitch."

Like in a lab report... "When viewed under the microscope, the microbe was found to be ginormous."

And make sure you have a ginormous copy of Webster's dictionary handy so when the teacher tells you it's not proper vocabulary you can do like this guy:

:rules:

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!

How is "word of fluctuating meaning" a fucking definition!?!?

I was a bit upset at "W00T", but this makes me want to :hulk:!

That's not the definition. That's the etymology; the history of the word.

The definition is: a style of Southern rap music featuring repetitive chants and rapid dance rhythms

Which is fucking wrong. My defintion would be

verb:
The act of becoming or being inebriated.
"I'm going to get so crunk at the party tonight."

adjective:
a activity that is exciting.
"That G-Unit show last night was so fucking crunk, nigga!"

It is the job of dictionaries and encyclopedias to recollect all these words and document them.

That way, if say an 80 year old came across this word and didn't know what it means, he can look in his copy of websters and find out.

Or in 100 years, if this word isn't used any more researchers can still find out it's meaning in a Websters.
