%5 to %10 exploded kernels are no biggies , other then that i've heard people succesfully colonizing %30 to %40 burst kernels , but they also told that the colonization times were longer .

you guys need to change you avatars(sp).
I see these post and think that they are the same person. So then i read them wondering why a guy that was giving advice the other day is asking a beginner question.

as for the grain they will be fine.

If I saw ten burst kernels in a batch of rye, I'd toss it out and not screw it up the next time. Ten percent busted kernels is unexcusable. If you prepare your rye properly, there will be ZERO busted kernels, which spill starch and make it very hard for the mycelium to colonize.

Attempting to make your mycelium colonize busted kernels is like trying to get your car to drive cross country on two flat tires-possible, but not recommended for good performance and speed.

i do notice that bursted rye is worse off then bursted wbs.

I used to be a fan of just adding 3 cups of wbs and 1.5 cups of water to a jar and pcing it for an hour.
Now I am boiling wbs for 15 mins or so like rr does i his video, drain it, pc it for 45 mins and I am happy with the consistency.
So I am basicaly a bigger fan of the no bursted kernel process now

On more than one occasion, I have had two or three quarts of WBS colonize from one batch of jars (10 ). Same batch of jars, same syringe. It just be like that sometimes.

just add water to the grqain and pc. any ratio will work. I cant believe that you are having a hard time finding one that works.

You can mix the grain:water at 2:1-3:1.

You can boil all the grain in a big pot with the wame ratio of water and then put it in the jars and pc for 45 mins.

you can put ten cups of seed in a pot and use 20 cups of water and boil it for 10-15 miins the strain it off, jar it and pc it for 45 mins.

I am having a hard time believe that you are having a hard time finding one that works. Have you read any cultivation documents?

sounds like a classic case of fucking with stuff too much.,
You could have 5 cups of seed with 1/2 cup of water in it and it will colonize. It doesnt take much water.

You could have 5 cups or water and 1/2 cup of seed. It wuld be soupy but it would grow.

Stop messing with it, top thinking that something is wrong.

give it up to 2 weeks to germinate. Then shake the jars...

They will be fine
