I got hit on by a cougar at the Neil Young show

I went to see Neil Young last night...whatta show! He played 45 mins or so acoustic solo and then had a brief setbreak, then performed with the surviving members of Crazy Horse. It's crazy, he's been playing with those guys for forty years. They play so well together. He played some new songs and a lot of old hits - "Like a Hurricane" "Old Man" "A Man Needs A Maid" "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere" "Harvest" - damn, it was so good. I had standing room tix that were on the side of the house but I had a great view of the whole stage and plenty of room to move around.
Well anyway as the set starts this woman who has to be forty years old or so sidles up next to me at the pillar I'm at and just looks at me for a few seconds then looks away. Then she sort of edges over to me so that her body is touching mine and she's got alcohol on her breath and it's low lighting but she looks good, and she offers me a swig from a small bottle of tequila. Now Neil has some weird rules on this tour about not bringing beers into the music room during the set, you can only drink them outside the room. So I was psyched to have some tequila.
Meanwhile this woman is telling me how nice it is to see a young man come to see Neil Young and she's touching my hair and my arm and my sides. And she's really, visibly drunk, but just shy of being un-attractively drunk. I thought the whole thing was funny and definitely played along. She was dancing against me during the acoustic set and whispers to me that she needs me to dance with her when he plays "Bad Fog of Loneliness" in the electric set - this was her seventh show on this particular Neil Young tour and she knew the setlist by heart.
Well then at the beginning of the electric set I pretty much just absolutely flipped my shit as the surreal fact that I was seeing NEIL YOUNG sunk in and I just zoned in completely. And the cougar was all trying to dance with me and you know what...I chose the electric guitar over the woman. Neil Young kills on guitar...he makes that thing do whatever the hell he wants it to, and it's a violent thing to behold. So unlike his acoustic set where it's like he knows just how to lightly tickle what he wants out of his guitar.
So she's trying to talk to me while Neil is absolutely ripping shit up on guitar and I ask her to wait a second while I'm watching him go to work, and then she just slinks away...twenty minutes later while Neil is melting my goddamn face playing "No Hidden Path" I see her way down closer to the front, with some other dude who's also half her age, absolutely sucking face with him.
But hey...even though I've always wanted to hook up with an older woman, I'm satisfied with my choice.

Neil Young is the man, and plays mad guitar, yes
You're right about the different sides of Neil Young. I always liked that he can be almost country when he wants to be, or almost punk, or just straight up rock'n'roll. Glad he's still doing his thing.
Should've got with the old lady though.

Good choice!
I love his music, the guy is just so under appreciated!
Last time I saw Neil Young he was sharing the stage with three other greats!
And of the four my favorite is actually Steven Stills.

I'm reading Neil's biography right now and he just met Stephen Stills...I have a feeling reading this book I'm gonna come to a new appreciation for CSNY.

Hey, you can probably download a recording of the Neil Young show you saw if you sign up over at dimeadozen.org. All the recordings from his recent tour have ended up there.

You chose wisely. Go to the right bar and cougars are a dime a dozen. But seeing Neil Young play is a rare and special experience.
I'd love to see him play electric. I did see him solo/acoustic back in '99 I believe. One of my greatest concert memories.
