Like a MOFO. I mean some of this guys art has got to be worth something. He's been doin this since he could hold a pencil in one hand and aspires to a proffessional artist.
One of his problems though is the fact he's very anti-social. I think it was cause he had some bad expierences back in school. I feel bad for him honestly BUT, anyhow..
Does anyone know or have ideas how to market this?

Oh, that's perfect. You build a brand based on his anti-socialism. You show his work in a large gallery full of rich idiots drunk on champagne. After they're safely drunk, you bring him in for 15 minutes to sneer and throw feces at the guests. An aid chaperones him as you collect the checks. You remove him quickly and announce that he has left the building. It's even better if he makes a scene and breaks down crying before being hauled away.
I have to admit, I'm thinking of Basquiat here.

start a website. (a real one, none of that geocities shit) sell his work through there. ask coffeeshops & other socially busy places to display his art. pass out business cards, etc.

Hey Future and all, This is my very first thread I read and couldn't help to reply. It's right up my alley...art and a personality disorder. I'm a professional college student for the past 15 years...I studied art for half that time in SF/Berkeley and now I'm a grad student in clinical psych but will never lose my love for art. Anyhow, back to your question...can you post some pics of your friend's art and I'll do my best to guide you in the right direction? There's different avenues for exposure depending on the type and quality (or maturity) of the art. Peace, Poo

both really. autism could be described as a severe case of asburgers from what i gather. not uncommon for people with either of those disorders to be particularly gifted in a field, but if ya try fix em and make em social, their talent usually weakens in the process. think it was the bbc that had a great documentary series on it. "great minds" or something like that.

post some of this dude's art. let us be the judge as to whether or not it could be marketable. also, do you know if the guy even wants to make money off his art? some true artistic geniuses could care less if their shit sold, just so long as they were able to create it.

you said he's good, as in skilled at drawing. but is his work particularly interesting? original? or does he just sketch accurate portraits?
if it's interesting, then i second the coffee shop idea. go around to the little bistros, diners, cafes, etc and see if any of them will put his art on display. i'd imagine that's a good starting place for getting his work noticed, even if just on a very small local level.
