one of my cakes has a few dark yellow spots on it, almost like a light orange color. could this be a contam or just myc piss? should i put it in the fruiting chamber anyways? if i do put it in the fruiting chamber and it is a contam instead of myc piss will it affect my other cakes.
p.s. i opened the jar and it smells like mycellium, no bad smells at all

Hard to tell without a picture imo. I guess you must have already started fruiting it if you opened the jar.
What you could do if you want to fruit it and still aren't sure is to just take a gallon ziplock bag, put some holes in it, fill it with damp perlite, and stick your cake in there sitting on top of something. You can leave the ziplock part partially open as well for better FAE and it's a cheapo little terrarium that's not sharing space with the other cakes.

hope its fully colonized... otherwise you contamed it..
the dark yellow spot is metabolites.. it normal, however it is cause for some concern as it is a posable sign of contam, since myc uses them for defense against contam

its quite possible that its just metobolites. It shouldnt be too much to worry about has bappened to me a couple times.
I dont think it will be contamed from opening before full colinisation, the dry verm layer acts as a filter and shouldnt let any contams into the subsrate.
A pic would be helpfull.
