are these fully colonised
    #7753297 - 12/13/07 11:34 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

I have got these 2 jars sitting around for 1 week or so after full colonization .
The bottoms of these jars in some points looks like uncolonized (and it didn't change in the past week )other than that all around is pure white for one week . but i think it is because the cake is pressed to that side because of the shrink can you confirm if these are good to dunk today ???
If not i guess i ll still wait a few days.

nope it was flour without additives anything . mixed them up as rr tells in his videos seen some flour tend to stick to each other but mixed it so hard that i got tired of it . nowhere else looking like this . and there was condensation within the jars when i flipped them i've seen that part is sticking to water on the bottom . then i flipped it and the condensation moved along the sides to down where dry verm is .

maybe you got 'em too hot at the bottom and they dried out or something?

i've heard that can happen..

Anyway the inside of the cakes should be penetrated by the mycelium right ?? since theyre looking exactly same since the photos in last week . I can see even the patterns of these uncolonised dots . Maybe these spots are colonised by %20 since last week , but im thinking mycelium doesn't want to take over it since its soaking wet .

actually hot air rises so it should be moving out from the innoc holes by logic . and there are lots o condensation on bottom and sides so i don't think drying is also an issue . When i flipped them i've seen the water droplets sticked to the bottom when the cake was moving down , i've seen the droplets extending between cake and glass the when far enough they sticked to bottom which is up now and they went down through the sides with my help .

By the way nice avatar made me want to do something like that =))

thanks for your comments i guess i'll wait for 7 10 hours hours since i flipped em now and then birth them maybe they can do sths in 7-10 hours.

Sounds like your cakes are a bit saturated (with water). The water logged parts have a hard time colonizing. If you have areas that are not colonizing, you might want to gently scrape those areas off the cake after birthing. It's okay to take a little mycelium with the chunk, just don't leave any uncolonized areas which could harbor contams.

When you find yourself in a room full of colonized cakes, Stop, Dunk and Roll. It may save their lives.

so i know i ve been asking this over and over again , but over the last 2 days these things are flipped nothing changed , these spots are just as they are , even after magnified inspection everyone of them match the picture 2 days ago ,
I want to be sure because these are the 2 cakes that i was expecting to fruit for new year , so i want them to fruit , but i want them to also have no vectors for contaminants , i dont know what those spots are but i can see whatever it is verm or brf it's been pressed down with the weight of cake so it looks compact and dense , so i dont know if that is something to be colonized and afraid to dunk it now =(
