Whiskey time!
I'm gonna have to go in and tell work
"Thanks for dropping 8 grand on that course. Want to do it again?"
It really fucking blows that you can study 20 hours plus for something and still fail.

Nice metaphor. BOOM! Tell the boss you'll show up for class and do the work next time if he gives you a nice raise.

Calc 2, supposedly the hardest of the calculii.
It's exactly how I feel about it too.
Had a little liquid oxygen whoopsie.
I've already gotten a nice raise, unfortunately. I had an obligation to work harder at this shit, and I fucked it up.
I'm really fucking depressed, which means one glass of whiskey only. If I really get going tonight, there's no way I'm going to make it through tomorrow.

that blows... I just took my single variable calc final today and and pretty confident I atleast got a B weirdly enough...I kind of enjoyed calculus more than anyother math class I've taken

Intellectually, it's a bunch of neat puzzles, but I like my math applied.
I'd have a lot more fun if it was cryptography or engineering or something.

I have a Calc III final tommorow. I would definitely agree that Calc II is the hardest one. Calc III isn't bad if you keep up with the coursework. (Stupid me)

Incidentally, I just beat together 1 raw egg, some soymilk, and some whiskey, cinnamon, and splash of amaretto.
(Based on something I vaguely recall about a recipe for irish cream).
This is actually quite good.

Well, i studied the whole terms worth of material over the time I spent, but the exam really hammered right in on the last two sections, which I was shaky on.
I dunno, I feel a lot better than I did when I got home.
Certainly not the end of my attempt to get this degree.
I just need to develop some study skills for the first time in my life.
I've always been able to fuck off and pull it together at the last minute due to some kind of inherent brightness.
I guess I can't get away with that with this kind of stuff.

With beggining math courses, you can usually test out, look into that path would be my suggestion.
Or get your boss really drunk before telling him, that's always a good idea.

Yeah man, I hear you. I always was able to slide by and when I got to university it was like, "Holy shit! I actually need to study and do stuff". Kind of depressing actually.

I'm glad I don't really need any math for an anthropology major. I've always despised math.

Similar thing happened to me in calc II. It was the lowest math grade I ever got( i have taken over a dozen in college, jeesus i just counted it )
Before I didnt have to study much at all. But I hit that peak, and now have to devote huge amounts of time to my math classes. Still I struggle though.
I tutor math at the college, and I think that whatever somebody's level of "having to start studying alot" is, after that expect to do a few hours after every lecture reading and working on problems. I see people fail classes at all levels, and sometimes they come in the next semester with a different attitude and stay at the tutor center for a few hours every day. Sometimes I never see them again.
Anyway... I just finished my take home math final last friday. I needed a 35% to get what I want, which Im not sure if I got or not. Many parts I just straight BSed.

There's definitely a change in attitude and habits that needs to happen.

I'm a bio major and I'm done with math forever.
...or so I thought.
<rant> Then I took intro cell bio. Michaelis-Menten equation, Burke-Lineweaver plots, thermodynamics calculations. I fucking hate math. Yes, the michaelis-menten equation is only algebra, but I hate that too.
And I have to take Physics I. Lets face it, thats another math class. I've already failed it once. Other than orgo, it's hardest class I've taken in college, seriously. And that makes me feel like an idiot because Physics I is an easy class for everyone else. </rant>
Kid_Orgo: I think I'm in the same boat as you soon. Comprehensive Orgo I exam. I did alright on the first test, but horrible on the second. Second one was all reactions and mechanisms. I think for this exam I need to know about 120 reactions, their reactants and catalysts, and how to draw the mechanism (that part's not a problem). Does anyone have any tips on how to study for orgo?

Orgo was one of those things I could just learn in massive doses.
Sit down with book, turkish coffee, and 12 hours later I'd know it.
Organic chem was WAY WAY WAY easier than Calc, for me.
Memorization, visualization, these things are easy for me when applied.

Treat yourself to a comfort zone. Fuck tests, if you know you tried very very hard. It sucks when you have to pay for your own knowledge.
