anyone else using this brand for a coir substrate?
it's hella cheap and works great! After seeing the prices paid for coir in a pet store i had to find a cheaper alternative.....

If you know it is coir why ask if people use it. Over half of this forum uses coir and most probably buy it in brick form.
Shroomery users must consume the entire coir production of several small countries

From what I've noticed, the majority buy the overpriced stuff from pet stores... which is a huge waste.
and i agree Shroomery users prolly do use the lion's share of the coir in the world... hahaha

Naaaah, you've noticed nOObs who can't find coir being told to go to petshops to buy it.
I doubt any of the old hands use petshop coir. They probably buy in bulk from their local gardening store or nursery. I can get a brick that will give me 20l of coir for 80 euro cents.

So all you "old hands" where do you get cheap coir? What brand do you like? Where can I order the cheap stuff? No need to go searching all over the world or paying a premium at petco of you all know of a cheaper, better, bigger alternative so don't hold out on us. Trout

This is freaking hilarious! Old Hands holding out on what "all of a sudden" appears to be Davy Jones' secret treasure map. I will search high and low for pet store coir alternatives! >>>scurries over to google<<<<<<

For items such as the aforementioned, I generally pick these items up when I'm out and happen to see them for murhpy's law alone. When you need it, it's hard to find. If I see half pint wide mouth jars, I buy a case whether I need them or not. Same goes for Verm and Perlite when I come across it.

old Hand or not. Not that long ago it only use was as caseing not bulk and "for some reason its overlaying like nuts". So we have all been trying to get it in bulk for about the same time. Try garden stores and stuff they can probly order it for you if you have names like peat eliminator and maybe the company that makes it.

I picked this stuff up at both Home Depot and Rona/Revy. they carry it year round right beside all those tropical plants and cacti in the gardening section. The MGMC for casing is right beside it!
