just putting it out there for those who are into gardening, bonsai or would just like something different for the yard, i have a bunch of Zamia furfuracea AKA cardboard palm at my fathers house. they are pretty neat plants. they look good, they are drought and salt resistant, so they will grow everywhere that doesnt snow. these plants are one of the few "living fossils" that have been around since the dinosaurs. they grow pretty slow, which makes them a good bonsai plant(they also grow well indoors for those who live where it snows), they make great barrier plants like bamboo, they are tough as shit to get through without slicing yourself to pieces.
there are 3 huge clumps of it, and there are literally THOUSANDS of seedlings growing underneath them. i also have some seeds drying, but wont be ready for about a month or so. ive heard the seeds are hard to germinate, however i cant see this considering how many have sprouted here. but anyway, thought id put this out there, as if i dont pull them and get rid of them, eventually they will start choking each other out.
if you want some just let me know, i dont want any money for them, but if you want to throw me some seeds or something in return thats up to you. all i ask is you send S&H first.

Cardboard palm is really cool, if you have like 6 or so, every week one of them will have grown another foot over the course of a few days. When you only have a few you won't notice it though, cause it doesn't happen often. Also the seeds are good to extract for poison. How much S&H?

you might be thinking about something else. this plant grows PAINFULLY slow. lol. we started these three clumps from seeds about 11 years ago and right now they are roughly 5 feet tall and about 5-6 feet in diameter. very very slow. and yes the seeds are poisonous, can be fatal to kids and animals.
umm im not sure, how many would you be interested in? let me know and ill slip them in an envelope and go have it weighed at the PO.

My late grandfather had one, the things grew slow but had random growth spurts. Anyway, one would be fine, but it would probably best be to wait a while, its freezing here in Illinois.
