Ron Paul Supporters

Just curious to see what everyone is doing in support of Ron Paul 2008. Bumper sticker on car? Do you actively talk to people about him? Organize events? Drive his bus?
Everyone I seem to talk to about him instantly falls in love with the idea. I am no politician, so I let them read what they want to know for themselves. I still think alot of people who like him don't consider him of any significance to the election though.
Some can see the potential outcome, others are blinded. I like the idea of turning people on before the fact though. It is like letting them in on a secret, and nothing beats a personal recommendation. You tell them now, they might put it behind them, but when the blimps start flying, and the commercials start airing they will remember.
I agree with many things he says, while others I don't. There are certain issues I have 0 knowledge about and cannot even say for sure whether its good or bad.
All I really know is that our domestic policies are making the country a real shit hole, and our foreign policies make people want to kill us. Some may disagree, but that is how I see it.
I have lived enough life to realize how it can be heaven, or it can be hell...and its leaning towards hell. I am down to try anything at this point.
Not everyone votes in the primaries, and the amount of people voting for Ron Paul should be pretty significant.
If you support him, I hope you are doing your part. This whole revolution is because of people like us, and every bit counts. If you cannot donate money, or buy signs, make your own, talk with people who may share similar views.
But probably most imporantly, if you want him to win, make sure you are registered to vote, and vote! There are alot of liberals and democrats who want him to win who are probably not going to be able to vote for him in the primaries because of their party affiliation. Time is running out, go to the DMV and fill out that paper, asap!
That is all I have to say, I am more than prepared for everyone to over anylize and pick apart this post and tell me exactly what im worth, but I speak my mind and my vote counts just as much as yours. Thanks

The most important thing about this to me, honestly, is not so much Ron Paul being the next president...but the fact that the people of this country are coming together like nothing ive seem to make a change.
People are uniting and taking back what is theirs through the process that was given to us by our forefathers. It really is a revolution.

I'm only quoting Glen Beck, a popular newscaster on AMERICA'S MOST RELIABLE NEWS SOURCE, CNN.

I joined my local meet-up groups last June, participate in sign waving events and road rally's ( lots of fun ) have already put out about 200 RP signs in my area, have my car decled out Ron Paul, leave push cards all over the place, have burned about 600 RP DVDs and CD Roms for handing out at events, and have donated to other grassroots projects in other states. Probably spent about $1,700 so far in donations and campaign materials and countless hours, had a custom RP football jersey made, the custom sign in my sig, have numerous other Ron Paul shirts I wear all of the time, and voted in a local GOP straw poll/BBQ, for him. I've been looking into becoming a Delegate or in the least, a Precinct Chair to help vote the Ron Paul Republicans into my local REC.
The biggest hump for me was re-registering from the Green party to the Republican so I can vote for him in the primaries. It took 6 months of reasoning before I was able to do that.
My meet-up groups are awesome. I love these people. It's weird, the ages go from 17- 82, we got Families, Harley Bikers, devout Christians, punk rockers, business executives , the spectrum of financial back rounds and yet, we are one body mind and soul when working on the cause.
I've been having a blast since I moved beyond just talking about him on the net and started getting out there and doing something to show my support, raise awareness and help convert new voters. We have fun together and keep the energy amped. They're all good and nice people I would trust with my wallet. It's fun to pull up to the events and meetings and see 50-150 Ron Paul cars in the parking lots.
PM your address anyone and I will send you a RP bumper sticker for free.
Prior to this, the most I have ever done politically was vote in the General elections. I don't know what has happened to me with all of this but I like being an active part of this grassroots movement a lot. My husband and daughter have really gotten into with me too over the last few months and it's been sweet working on unfucking America together as a family. We have 12 sheets of 4x8 plywood just collecting dust in the garage he is going to turn into RP signs this week. It's weird watching the passion that has come from out of him, out of nowhere wanting to work on the cause.
I had been talking about Paul for months and nothing. Then he saw some Lou Dobbs show about the Bank Bail outs, got really pissed off, and has been very active ever since.
I just got back from a RP meet-up group meeting an hour ago. Lots of new faces this time, lots of new plans of action.

On a 24-hours news station
I sport the Ron Paul Bumper sticker and drive through heavy traffic every day so I know it has a little effect.
Mostly I post bulletins on myspace and try to get my friends to learn more about him. Everyone I know who isn't living in fantasy land, who I've introduced Ron Paul to, has really liked what they saw/read. The rest make me really sad and hopeless and seem completely disinterested... they're completely happy with their lives and see absolutely nothing wrong with the world... they say things like "I like Hillary" -- why? "Oh I dunno, I just do" These people really make me hate our culture.

Indeed.
Douche bag fits the bill better.
He leaves RP off of his web-site page polls, just because Pauls Campaign manager cancelled on him, to do an interview with Blitzer that would get him better exposure instead. (Becks on late, and has a smaller viewership.) That's what got Becks egomaniac panties in a bunch against Paul. That happened many months ago.
Other then the war, they agree on Everything.
Becks been begging for Pauls campaign to reschedule and promised him 2 hours. HQ says they are working on a rescheduling. Since they are not working on it too hard, Beck is feeling really slighted like he isn't important enough and so he's been acting like a douche, making matters worse for why Pauls campaign hasn't made his show a top priority to get on.
Whatever, we just vote Tancredo to the top every time he puts a Presidential candidate poll up without Paul in it.

So that's another one. I can and will be as insulting and sarcastic about the uber-tard Ron Paul as I damn well please. He is a phony, a buffoon and a hypocrite and he is playing you all for fools. Even if the earth shook to its core and this nutlog got elected he still couldn't do one thing he has bamboozled you children into thinking he supports. Except precipitously remove every soldier from Iraq and anywhere else. That'll probably lead to some real good theater.
One of my favorite cartoons of all time is of this mean guy standing by a special ed school with a can of spray paint and a sign that reads "Your Message On a Moron, $5."

You have been warned, as have they. Do it again, and you can discuss politics somewhere else for a few days. I hate being a jerk, but flames and troll comments have no place here. I try to apply the rules fairly without playing favorites towards anybody or any political position.

I think this board is pretty even handed about the rules.
And insulting people doesn't help your position. Insult the candidates or whatever, but ad hominem attacks are worthless.
I think people resort to this out of frustration that their world views aren't so blindly accepted in this forum as they are in others or in your isolated population of friends.

I have no prob w/ others not accepting my "world view" I just like to try to even this board out some from time to time. It gets dominated by the neo-cons far too often for a site claiming to be against the war on drugs.
And claiming Ron Paul cannot do the things he claims he would do if elected might hold a little water if his voting record was shaky. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the president does not need congress approval to dissolve the IRS or the Federal reserve. Especially considering the constitution (remember that thing?) says congress is to control the printing of currency, not pass their duty on to a privately owned company. Those two entities do not have a legal leg to stand on I do not see a president having much problem throwing out the garbage were he to choose to do so.

I got da ron paul bumper sticker. I've already had people ask me who he is... so it's done some good.
4 years ago when I supported nader (meh what was i thinking) i had some nader bumper stickers sitting around in my car. Whenever I left my gym and walked back to my car I'd see a lot of Kerry/Edwards stickers on ppl's cars on the way. I remember thinking that it'd be funny if I took all my nader stickers and ran around the parking lot, slapping them on top of the kerry stickers. They'd never be able to get those off without ripping up the kerry stickers also.

Approval? No, he doesn't need their approval. He can't do it. Congress would have to actually vote to do it. The Congress doesn't need the President's approval. He won't be able to decrim drugs either. Or a whole host of other things. Quote:

Cramer just had Paul on Mad Money. Had to be the best air time Paul has gotten yet. Cramer being a spaz pays off here as they focus on the ils of the Federal Reserve. They made for a neat contrast together. This is the sort of airtime Paul should always be getting.

zappa,
paul could indeed decide to not prosecute those laws he does not agree with, could he not?
As the democratic presidential candidates have said they'd not enforce the Controlled Substance Act with regards to medical marijuana dispensiaries in compliance w/ state law.
I agree this is not the best scenario, and moves closer to bullshit like the netherlands w/ "tolerated" possesion and shit like that, it seems possible, and is perhaps better than nothing.
Edit:
Though I agree dissolving the IRS would be impossible.

Haha, I watch Cramer everyday and I actually recorded his interview with Ron Paul on my digicam! Guess I don't have to upload it though... since someone else has beaten me to it!
As for what I've done in support of Dr. Paul, I've donated $215 to his campaign, sent emails and am speaking to family and friends suggesting they take a look at the man and his stated agenda, traded my Libertarian affiliation for Republican (temporarily), distributing a couple hundred fliers, placing stickers and signs around, uploading a couple Ron Paul related videos to You Tube, and putting a self-printed banner in my rear car window. I also have a Ron Paul campaign jacket and T-shirt on the way from his online store.
I don't agree with everything the man says by a stretch, but I do admire his core principle of reduced federal government while returning more power to the individual states.
