so many problems
    #7749371 - 12/12/07 01:26 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Everyone around me is so deep in shit, so much suffering. I don't know how the rest of you handle those people close to you being in mental and physical pain. I hate it, and it only gets worse as you age.

Learn to accept the things you cannot change. Learn to change the things you can.

Learn from others mistakes and make a better person of yourself.

above all, Let it be.

you couldn't end anyone's suffering or really change anything substantial with money, imo. one can work on examining the root of suffering in one's own life (it's not a lack of money) and practice compassion and loving-kindness towards oneself and others. money just buys stuff, and stuff doesn't last

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

i don't know if i agree with this approach. it's certainly beneficial to straighten out one's own life, but in regards to others, i think people should be allowed to make their own mistakes, and it usually doesn't help to try to steer people and "fix" their lives for them. set an example by living your life from a compassionate and light-hearted center of awareness. everyone ages and dies, and life contains suffering no matter what if we are attached to it.

well if I had money I could help pay for a specialist to help fix the problem with my sisters brain. I could give my sister in law a job so she wouldnt have to sell her stuff to buy my nephews toys for xmas. My parents wouldn't always be argueing about the bills all the time because I would pay them, I could get my friends out of jail when they have to pay bail. I could actually help protect those around me. when my other sister was in a car accident and her foot was hanging by a piece of skin, I coulda gave her the best care money could provide, I could hire someone to help my grandfather work around the yard because hes getting to old and can't work like he use to.

who ever said money can't buy happiness might have been right, but it sure can aid in creating happiness

money is medication, fucked up but true. and when it comes to the response to my first post is stupid. If u wanna fix your problems then fuckin do it. Don't make any excuses and you will be successful. Dont listen to people who say it is inevitable and all that. Just man up and do it. If you have to work 2 jobs but it will get you more money do it. Remember what is important in life. I'm out:cool:
