I cased some finch seed with verm. last week the mycelium broke the surface so i cold shocked then I put it in my terrarium. It's been about 4 days and no signs of pinning yet...anyone know why? The temp. is about 72-74 and i'm fanning twice a day. I don't have a hygrometer but there is condensation on the walls of the chamber.

What is the Strain? Most strains have the same tolerance....but there are a few differences depending on the Strain.........Sounds like everything is under control....Patients is the KEY.....

Wait longer, 4 days? maybe you will see pins in another 4.
Good luck

Yeah man, you need to be patient. It could take 4 days to pin or it could take 10 days to pin. Is the fact that you cold shocked make you believe pins will appear that early? IMO cold shocking is unnecassary.

Typically after you case, just make sure to keep the fruiting ideals good, temperature, humidity, airflow, and yes depending on the strain, and the casing depth( sometimes even though casing has broken the surface, it has not formed a solid network in the casing). My friend has had to wait up to two weeks for a ist flush after initiation, but the benefits were worth the wait. bluhoney
