Can any one point me towards informative articles on the cultivation or natural growth of chanterelles?

It looks like you live in the PNW? If so you are going to want to look in second growth, dough fir forests, with very few cedars.

North facing mountain slopes at 1500-2500 feet evelvation, with almost all second growth doug fir. You won't miss them.

They usually don't pop until late sep, early oct. This season was pretty good.

Here is a enviroment shot.



That is a second growth doug fir. Anything bigger than that is old growth. Anything half that diameter, and smaller is new growth.


And them's just good eats.....
