Gymnopilus monograph
    #7746755 - 12/11/07 08:00 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Here are a few pages from L. R. Hesler's North American Species of Gymnopilus that may be of use to the microscope crowd.

GG allowed me to borrow a hard copy of the document in full, which I converted to a somewhat weighty pdf file. If anyone is interested in a cd let me know.

It's pretty darned thorough at 117 pages. The document could use a little work in terms of color adjustments and such.

The pictures below are jpeg copies from the original scans to which a sepia filter was added just to tone down the contrast... and i thought it looked cool. =)

Hey george,

G's, I'm really happy with the way those turned out, perfectly clear.

Why are the pages yellowish when my original copy is in all black and white?

We've got to get the text out to everyone somehow..

And how did the photographs turn out on your end?

And as you probably noticed, I used a yellow highlighter throughout all the text to mark all the species that were listed from Florida, did that highlighting come out in your copies?

..looks great so far, good work man!

Damn it... I was hoping you wouldn't notice that bit about the sepia filter. I was already concocting a story about a foul smelling couch, my buddy Phil who has a drinking problem, and a dinner party gone wrong.

I didn't apply the sepia to the pdf fearing it may interfere with printing, however I may assemble all the files again with the color added.

fucking great , ups sorry ¡
knowledge is power. i´m real interest in the hard file of information if it is possible i like to share this also with you
that may help to understand more gymnopilus study of traditional infrageneric classification of Gymnopilus is not supported by
ribosomal DNA sequence
even that i think you already have it, is good information also to understand the clades and phylogeny of gimnopilus but still is a inconclusive work look like is difficult to obtain DNA from some gymnopilus due to the basidia size...

all my best vibration for think like this is that i´m here .
