Another example of how human psychology can make anything seem reel when it wants it to be real:
-------------------- Republican Values: 1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you. 2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child. 3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer. 4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

how does this work?
I could understand that hes basically cheating, having previous information, but what he says seems to be too specific to be just psychological tricks.

Man, I wanna know! whats the deal?
Especially with the first video...It isnt failsafe, because the one guy did remember; but that makes it just seem more genuine. Obviously is distracting them with his words, and hands somehow... but jeez...
The second video, I kind of understand, he seems to be relying on the passivity of the volunteer, that is until the last one with 1000 pounds...or is he still??? He has to be manipulating him somehow...
I was thinking that Id flip a coin on the last one, but im sure that wouldnt be allowed. So flip a coin in my head? This kind of reminds me of a conversationo I had with my techhead brother. Apparently, there is no way to make a randomness generator without relying on analog. Computers that dont use analog can only rely on complex algorythms to fake this.

ah, Derren Brown... I'm a HUGE fan. He originally got me interested in NLP and cold reading.

That is interesting (the entertainment part), if not scary (the everyone being gullible part)....
So, let me get this right..... If I have something that I can ALMOST remember, but not quite, - all I have to do is make a popping sound and tap myself on the forehead to remember....??? Does that really work....!?

Hehe, there are some interesting explanations, especially about the train thing. I am not sure if it is completely explainable by NLP only, but there are nice explanations from a NLP view there f.e.
I am not into his methodology, but he has some big 'fathers' he refers to. I just can't remember. But he mentions them in his videos, especially the older ones. For me, even if it's mostly explainable through NLP, it seems very near towards magic and fundamental ways of thinking and pattern processes of mind organisation. Which can be used for influencing and reading. Influencing the subconscious and reading one's subconsciousness. There are some very early videos of him on the net where he explains more, how it's done. And of course, being absolute aware. He can remember a card deck just by striping through the cards in about two seconds
