I only have a wee 40gb harddisk on my laptop.
I've been watching loads of movies on quicksilverscreen, they all use DivX and now my harddisk is full.
I havn't downloaded the movies so its obviouse that divx is putting them into a tempory file and not deleting the temporary file afterwards!!!
I've used disk cleanup, I've looked in all the temp folders, I've looked in the divx folder and I can't find anything.
Can someone please tell me where DivX has its temp folder, I need my harddisk back again

Thats wierd, I went fo a bath and came back and suddenly 3gb has re-appeared!?
When I left there was only 200mb!
Bring back the days of MS-DOS. I knew what everything did and when. I controlled the system. Now Windows and other programs are doing things for me - even things I don't want them to do - its making life harder to know whats happened when something strange goes on.
Thanks for the advice anyway!

C:/MSDOS WAS GREAT C:/computers are only getting faster with more storage, but it seems we deal with a hell of a lot more bugs than we used to. I want to ditch windows too, whats up with the linux business?

I know it is 2 years since this thread started, but............
The problem is (and can be easily corrected), that when you stream movies, they have to "Buffer". DivX player will place a file on the computer which is a " .part " file. Most times, this file will automatically delete itself when you have finished streaming and close the browser. But there have been times i have observed that it did not delete, and stayed there.
The easiest way to get rid of them is to do a search for .part , and then delete them. Think of them as like an internet cookie, but for a video file.
You can also as well get rid of them by opening up your DivX player, click on the Preferances, and look to see where your player is saving a copy of the file. Then just browse to the folder and delete them all.
