First Grow Requesting Help Please!

Ok, so this is my first grow so I'm not to familiar with the subject. I inoculated about 3 weeks ago with some ecuador spores, and now, about 2 of 7 jars look like they are completely colonized. The other five are close behind at about 75% colonized. I have read in some places that it is necessary to wait one week after full colonization to birth the cakes. Other sites places state it is ok to birth right when the colonization appears to be finished. I was wondering if I really have to wait an extra week. I know it's just noob impatience, but I wanna get these shrooms going. What should I do? Also I was wondering should I take the lids off the jars for air exchange, or just leave the inoculation holes uncovered? Thanks shroomers.

I usually give my jars about 3 days after the outside looks fully colonized. This helps ensure that the center of the jars are at 100% as well.
Leave the lids on. If you drilled your holes the correct size, they will provide plenty of gas exchange to finish the colonization.

yea, wait thatextra week. you want to make sure that the inside of your cakes are completly colonized and their not going to start fruiting for approx. a week anyways.
you dont want air exchange while the jars are colonizing you want gas exchange. and if you have the dry verm layer on top of your cake just keep the lid on with the holes uncovered until they are ready to birth.
^^^^ we must have been writing at the same time.

Between full surface colonization and pinning, more than a week will go past anyway.
You aren't delaying anything by keeping them in the jars. If say the time between surface colonization and pinning was two weeks, it will take two weeks either if you birth them instantly or if they sit in a jar for a week.
If you leave them in the jars a week you are keeping it protected from any contaminants until the cake is properly consolidated.
