xmas menu
    #7741377 - 12/10/07 04:06 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Apparently I'm incharge of cooking the christmas feast, being as I don't want to make the cliche ham/cranberry nonsense, I'm looking to mix it up a bit maybe with some prime rib, or  brisket of some kind and something else. I'm not too sure what to throw together kinda looking for idea's so hit me up. :boobs:

Incorporate hawaiin sweet rolls into a dish somehow. Those are great.

Prime Ribs, Roast Red Potatos, Gravy (obviously), Au jus, Fresh Horseradish, Rolls, Butter Biscuits, Apple Pie, Artichoke Dip for an appetizer, fresh ceasar salad with fresh romano and parmeson...I could go on.

mmm Prime rib and red potato's I like where you going with this. I might do a sweet style prime rib, with like a rosemary honey jus and some turkish bay leaves or something.

My family has been experimenting with the burn and leave method for Prime Rib.

Preheat oven to 400 or 425. Put peice of meat in the oven. Turn off oven, and leave for four hours. Make sure meat reachs 165 ( i think)

Do your research, but this method has worked beautifully for that rare sort of rib we all seek.:heartpump:

Yeah I cook some prime rib everyday at the place I work at. Usually thats how it works. You get a good sear on it, by putting it in a 400degree oven for about 15 minutes to caramalize the marinade, then place it in a oven with some water for about 4 hours at 225degree's then hold it at 165 untill servin. Time is crucial for getting a good luscious succulant prime rib. I tihnk prime rib might be the main course I think I think. Now just to figure the rest of the shit out. Sweet potato pie is a givin.
