hey guys I was wondering if it would be a good idea to add a little wheat straw to a coir/coffee substrate.
I was thinking it would help out the size of the fruits a little in a monotub...just an idea so tell me if its a bad one.
If it will be advantageous what percentage straw should i make the mixture? thanks

i personally would do 50% coffee, 30% straw, & 20% coir (it will expand with h2o)
straw not only raises your nutes highly but your contam probability just be careful , its not hard
wat i would do is roll a ball of straw the size of your fist and either cut it with scissors and/ or blend the shit out of it till its powder then you can sterilize AND handle it alot easier

Straw is not more nutritive weight to weight than any kind of grain (whole or turned into flour)
All bulk substrates are less nutritive gram to gram than grains but as it is so much easier to prepare lots of it, and they hold humidity much better, we use them instead of grains for bulk growing.
I'd say avoid the straw.
