This is my first grow and Im about to make a few clones. What stage of growth should I pick one to clone it? Heres what they looked like 4 hours ago...

General opinions I have read indicate that you want to clone while the fruit is still an immature PIN. This is to help ensure that the mycelium won't be as "senescenced" (aged) and will be more likely to produce healthy, rhizomorphic mycelium.

Spore printing is not the same as cloning. Cloning is asexual reproduction, while spore printing is sexual. Searching will give you some more info on cloning.

now.
cloning is best done, as said above, when the shroom is still a pin.
never clone after a veil tears, try to always pick well before that. the earlier the better really.
popping a tiny pin, whole, on an agar plate works well.

Ok Thank you, I had NO idea you wanted to clone at such an early age... I thought you would want to see how big or nice they come out before you clone, I was wrong.
Also verminute, these are Brazilian strain as for the tek... All I did was spawned my Milo grain to a 50/50 H Poo / Coir and when it was fully colonized it went straight to the FC. LOTS N LOTS of RH ...

its best to clone small but if you do not let it mature you will not know if it has traits that you want to reproduce. Are those tc's?
Btw, your casings are overlayed in a bad way. You will get much better pin set and consistantcy if you knock down the mycelium before it grows on top of the casing material

Ok thats another thought, kinda like what I was thinking... And no these are Brazilian, and there is no casing... Im fruiting uncased...

makes sense. Clone the biggest baddest looking one but do not try to clone straight to lc, yo uwill have to go to agar

Small, rapidly growing fruits make the best candidates for cloning. If the mushroom has already matured, the cells have stopped dividing, thus it's not a good candidate. If you like clusters of fruits, clone from a cluster. If you like individual fruits, clone a loner. RR

one more thing before this slips off...take multiple clones if possible. that way you can grow each clone out and pick the best one to continue producing. if you take only 1 clone from a multi-spore mat you only sample 1 possible set of genetics and will only get that set. taking several will allow you to choose the best of many instead of risking a single failure.
