What is this? Contamination?

I'm not sure if this is some sort of contamination or just weird growth. The jar was colonizing for almost two months.

That looks like early growth of the predator. From predator vs. alien movie.
Is that rice that hasn't been ground? The blue ones?

Almost definitely a contamination, but of what type I have no idea. Almost looks like you're making some cheese there.

Maybe I should mention some other details. The jar has a thistle seed/BRF/verm mixture. Like I said, I waited almost two months, and the bottom of the jar still wasn't colonized. I decided that I waited long enough, and that I was just going to try to salvage what I could. So... I dunked it in water over night and I cased it this morning.
We'll see what happens.
Oh... and if it's not contamination, I think it could possibly be mushroom growth. It looks similar to what mushroom stems look like when you pour water on them. Maybe?

Looks like slime mold. Possibly the slimy plasmodium of Fuligo Septica.
