This is fucked up! One plan gets the same minimum offence as 199 plants. I heard that it costs around 88K per year to house a male prisoner. This bill (C26) is really gonna fuck us. Does anyone know anything we could do to stop this. I think this is going way way to far.

Mandatory minimums?
Great, I love it when justice is taken out of the hands of judges.

if anything you would think he would mandate that the alcohol content of Canadian beer be reduced in his 'drug war'
its sad that Canadians dissed on bush for many years and then went and elected a neoconservatice dumb ass themselves.

I agree it is sad. Unfortunately the conservatives really played up the scandal with the Liberals (which was bad), and a whole lot of Canadians bought what they were fed by the media. At the same time, the Liberals lost a lot of their party leaders. Without a credible candidate the liberals stood no chance. Stephane Dion (Liberal Leader) does not seem very charismatic, and so we are stuck with the conservatives for a long time. I don't mind conservative financial ideas (except war and tax breaks) but who the fuck are they to start giving their citizens morals, they are supposed to be working for us.
