Possible early Harvest?

My mushrooms are just getting to the point where the caps are tearing away from the veil, but they still seem quite short. Should I still harvest them or can I let them go for a little longer to try and get them a bit bigger.

You can let them flatten out a bit if you wish, but most people consider the point at which the veil starts tearing to be the point where not much more actives can be had from the mushroom.
If you let them get bigger, they will weigh more, but they (probably) won't be any more potent.
The reason I say PROBABLY is that this has never been proven.

ok well in the future would you know what I could do to possibly get them to be bigger when it starts tearing away. cuz I mean I only have about 3-4 that are about ready to be harvested but they are only about 3 inches long.

Hey there, I'm kinda at the same stage as you Djcorus86. This is my first grow and I'm trying to figure out when I should start picking them. I don't want a bunch of spores all over so I guess sooner then later would be better... This is where mine are at about now... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7730494/page/0/fpart/2/vc/1

Nice, they look good. What strain did you say they were? I tried a cake along with my uncased spawn and the cake was B+ it only put off 1 shroom. The way Im doing it now seems to work much better for me.

These are cambodian. I would like to try the method you are using, looks like it produces better. What is that method called? May have to try that next time.

Its basically just going from grain to Horse Poo / Coir as a spawn then straight into fruiting chamber. Also you must have lots of RH to do this Ive heard. Like a cake more less.

Just to make sure terminology is straight -
The colonized grain is your spawn. The horse poo/coir is your bulk substrate.
Makes it easier if everyone speaks the same language.
