Higher Yields

I have six half pint jars almost ready to be cased, and after my last experience with 1/2 pint PF jars, I'd like to case with something that will give higher yields. Smell is a big issue though. I'm not preparing the substrates in my own kitchen, so if it smells a lot, I can't use it.
I was thinking of casing a few jars with straw and covering that with coco, but are there any other high yield, low smell options that don't require a PC?
Space is not an issue either...

You can use bagged cow manure. It does not have a bad smell. If it does, then it isnt that strong of a smell. Manure will get you the large(r) yield you're looking for...

I'm thinking, I might use mainly straw with some of the bagged cow manure mixed in. Straw seems like a pretty safe bet though. I was hoping to pastuerize it, case a layer of pf cakes with it, wait a few days and case that whole thing with either verm or coir.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that, Straw is almost a MUST when using manure. It provides a lot of extra nutrients and such.. Good luck!

Straw is not casing material, it is substrate... your coco coir is the casing material

Pasturize 2/3rds pot of shredded wheat straw w/1/3rd dung on top to hold the straw down & a little bag of dung on top of that. Smell isnt bad if the dung is dry. Use a box fan w/open window to vent smell. Follow the bulk neglect tek, even if multispore. SixTango

I know straw isn't a casing material, but I would be following the same steps as if I were casing. Once it colonized, I would case with coir.

I don't think outdoor is possible around here this time of year. The temps tend to reach 95 on most days. I'll give it a shot in a week anyway, once I make a few syringes off prints from these last casings.
