What do you do the day the US declares Martial Law?

Seriously, we cannot stand up to our military. The 2nd amendment has been subverted and there is no way we can take our gov't with shotguns and muzzle loaders. What do you do? Grab the Vaseline and bend over Bubba.
As for me, I will bite my tongue and be a good robot (until I can GTF OUT). How can we possibly defend our rights against our government? We can't. Our "rights" are on loan to us from them. What they say goes, or you get disappeared...

You really must think you are the most important person on earth if you think the most powerful government on earth is really out to get you.
The fact is the US will not declare martial law for the same reason less free countries-including those of Europe, India and even China do not declare martial law-it would not be profitable.
We can declare martial law in the event of an emergency, like a terrorist group acquiring nuclear weapons and setting them up in a city (not an impossibility) and if that happens I will be damn glad. I don't want to risk my family getting blown to pieces simply because some politician was more concerned with his image then the safety of his people.

Yes murder people over ideology. Nevermind the fact that these are real people withy families who sacrifice daily to keep you safe. The ends justify the means right?
I know it, even better why not just find out where their families live and take their children hostage. That should really get the attention of the authorities. I mean, we may as well seeing as we are taking innocent lives for paranoid reasons already.

I am not saying that the gov't is out to get me. What I am saying is that whatever our government wants to do, it will, and the people are powerless.

The governnment is composed of people. People with family, and relatives, and dreams. So is the military. And so is the police.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are some government where the politicians look out only for themselves--namely dictatorships. But ours has a democratic tradition.
I have faith in my government, because so far the government has been good to me. I have never had to deal with secret police, or corrupt cops demanding bribes, or some party official censoring my statements. I also realize we have a constitution, checks and balances, and the ability to vote, as well as speak our minds freely.
The fact that you can even debate this issue on this forum proves how free you are. If you were in China and you mentioned revolution you'd be locked up in a second. Like I said you have no idea of how truly free you really are.

First of all you are misquoting Benjamin Franklin. What he said is those who would sacrifice fundamental freedoms for a little bit more security deserve neither.
Secondly, you seem to be missing an obvious fact. You can debate about overthrowing the government on these forums. If this was truly a tyranny you'd be arrested arrested immediately.
Just try doing any of this in a real dictatorship. Go to China and Iran and start debating about a revolution against the government. You'd be in a slave camp in a second.

You can't even make a joke about Columbine on the internet without getting arrested.

load my gun and keep it handy in case anyone tries anything stupid with my property. martial law usually means an emergency aka post Katrina in NO when dozens of people where killed. i met a national guard guy who was actually shot at by American citizens while trying to help people in NO during that time. now if it is marshal law like Hitler did and the government is trying to get all fascist then i guess I'd just make a run for Canada then catch a flight to New Zealand and kayak my life away!

That is because he is a government employee in a position of authority. You're damn right he shouldn't be promoting school violence. Just imagine if one of his students took him seriously.
And 300 dollars bail is a slap on the wrist. Besides you are changing your argument, I am not going to be arrested and you know it. So much for your claim.

Yeah you are really brave in a country where you know the police aren't going to just execute you. But if the Muslims ever come to your home, I bet you will cower just like all those pathetic anti-establishment types.
Go ahead, go into another country with a real police state-authoritarian military with your pea shooter and see how far you get. Try walking into china or north korea with a gun, and see how long you last against their beyond well trained thugs. They'd send a sniper to take you out-problem solved.
Remember soldiers are trained. And training, to quote Tom Clancy, is what makes the difference between a soldier and an ignorant civilian.

paleocon you are not a bright one are you? marshal law is usually indicative of some sort of emergency like post katrina NO. it is employed to keep the majority of people safe from a small, usually rioting, minority. i would be much more worried about people trying to break into my house to steal things than i would a cop showing up under marshal law. i would only protect my property (which is 100% legal in the U.S.) not go around shooting people for no reason. the military and police would never randomly just come into someones house in the U.S. under marshal law. i know a lot of you think cops are 100% evil but even under marshal law if you called the police and were like "people are breaking into my house" they would probably respond and they sure as hell wouldn't do anything against me if i shot at people breaking into my house.

Proof? I'm sorry, but if asked to decide, I believe my government (who treats me better then any other government in any other country) over some random drug addict on a mushroom board.

Kind of off topic but am I the only one who wants to throw up when people use the "But in China, Pakistan... ect its SO MUCH WORSE" argument. If you want to judge where you live by those standards, fine, but it is completely meaningless to use in an argument.

i learned what marshal law was when i was in high school so unless your only like a junior or something then i guess you'll just be in the dark until you become a senior in high school.
