Hey,

I was thinking about how to get the most out of a casing and i was wonderind if you can make an extra large casing layer, let the casing overlay in the incubator and use that casing's myceium to make a few new casing? Would that work? Why?

Sorry if its a stupid Q,
Fd

Keep in mind that the casing layer has no nutrients to feed the mycellium, the mycellium is still feeding off the substrate. You may get more mycellium... but there wont be nutrients to permit fruiting, only what is contained in the original substrate.

Try using spent casings to spawn straw. My friend did it and he grew some massive fruits, one over 10 inches. It really works man. Check out this thread:

Good luck and post your results.
