11.6 psi

I have a problem, I am currently cooking some WBS pints and Corn Syrup LC pint jars in my 4 quart PC, it only does 11.6 psi.
I know the normal time for PCin jars is 1 hour so I am doing it for 2 hours. its almost 2 hours now.
I prepared the wbs by soaking for like 20 minutes, rinsing, simmering for 20 mins, rinsing and letting drain.
then I spread it out on a baking sheet and put it on 200 until it started looking a little drier. Then I loaded the jars 3/4 of the way up, screwed on the lid(4 holes were previously punched in), and covered the top with foil to cover the 4 holes.
Now this is what I was doing wrong that I researched on how pressure cookers work and am doing it right now. I only used ONE AND A HALF INCH at bottom of the pressure cooker.
I cooked em for two hours. Does all this sound successful? i was having a problem with green contams on almost all my pint jars when i PCed for only an hour.

p.s.
damn i nodded out twice when I was typing that, oxy oxy my sweet friend.
p.p.s.
just never got a chance to write p.p.s. until now

i don't know if the first 20 min soak would be enough to germinate the resistant endospores in there, you might be asking for a contamination. if i were you i would let them sit for a day or two and re-PC them.

Need to soak longer than 20 min. I do 16 to 20 hours.
PC for 2 hours at low psi.
Good Luck

you're probably safe though if you can get your temp up for that 2 hour period

yeah I think these jars are doing good. they look good and hydrated after the PC and also the millet is not busted open, which is what was happening my first attempt at making jars. All my pint jars except for like 2 contamed but all the half pints were fine. I don't expect any contamination from the substrate at least this time.
Plus I have PCed two pint jars for b+ LCs.
b+ has got to be the fastest colonizer I have dealt with so far.

the estimate on pcing 2 hours is right but what helps most is waking those hidden endospormes by soaking them more then 12 hours thats when you make them become vulnerable other then that you may still succed (so the idea is being safe than sorry ) . but you also have chances of contamination and you ll go back and say why i didn't soak for 12 hours . peace .

ok. after all the good advice I am going to start soaking. I actually am gonna go buy a bigger pressure cooker from the same store I got the one I have now form. I guess I will have two for now. That will make jar production do quicker i suposse.

Also, PCing your LC for 2 hours, is overkill and will lead to caramelization of the sugars in the Karo. This may limit your success with this LC.

nah i only did the LC jar for like 30 mins. I used 300ml of boiled water and 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup. I actually broke a jar doing a lc the first time because I was using a nut to be an agitator in the jar and when i pced it in the jar it was bouncing all around, when i opened the PC the bottom of the jar was cut out in a perfect circle, i had to waste a jar but I kept the glass circle, i might try to put a print on it for fun. it would look awesome.
I will let you guys know how the LC works out, I have never seen anyone use corn sytup, unless that is what Karo is, i don't know what karo is.
