Hello fellas, looking for some advice as far as what substrate to use in my jars. I read about the birdseed, straw, etc and not sure which one is better for my strains. I will be using the Cambodian, eq, PSEA, Treasure coast and mex-cube. These will then be cased. Not sure if the 50/50 or a straw casing is better? Any advice is appreciated

Strain choice is irrelevant in regards to substrate. They are all the Cubensis species, and they all fruit from the same substrates.

50/50 is used as a casing LAYER. Straw is used as a bulk substrate.
Sounds like you've still got quite a bit of reading to do.

FYI I have been on here for several days reading. excuse me for being confused. I think I am going use birdseed cakes and then the straw tech. Just wondering if that was suitable for all the strains above or if some would do better on another method. any constructive comments are welcome please

Didn't mean to sound condescending. There are just so many people who come on these boards wanting everyone else to do their work/research for them.
If you're planning on using wild bird seed, you will need a pressure cooker.
The strains you've chosen will work fine for those teks.

thanks bud. I have the pressure cooker, the jars, the chambers, etc. In your opinion should I just case the jars or is the straw tech the way to go for higher yeild? I plan on growing them in those throw away tin pans, a few per tub (dark so you can't see inside). Also Have a light to hang over them to give them a few hours of light in the evening with the tops removed

Brew,
WBS works great ...... multiple grains gives you some flexibility and forgiveness ..... I have used HorsePoo as a bulk substrate and also Coir/Coffee grounds ...... mix HPoo with some Coir/Coffee and add some vermiculite .... nice substrate.
50/50+ is a good casing.
Good luck.
