Coolest show i've seen in a while.
    #7732365 - 12/08/07 09:27 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

I got a school where everyone complains about how there is nothing to do. but every once in a while you stumble into something that makes you realize there's prolly a lot of cool shit going on but you just don't know about it.

Anywho last night was one of those nights a friend of mine told me to go to it. he said it was a Japanese drumming group called Yamato and that they had a huge drum that was carved out of a 400 year old tree. That's all i needed to hear. I cried within the first piece they did later to find out that the piece was about youthful vigor. this show was easily one of the coolest things i have ever experienced.

here's a clip i found on youtube.

That looks cool! I saw Mickey Hart's Global Drum Project a couple of months ago and it was mind blowing, as well. It's good to see you, Ani. I wish we could kick it sometime, but there's that little 24 hour drive that is sort of a hinderance.

I live in NY but i go to school in westchester county... BIIIIIG difference.

Blissed, that sounds awesome. I dunno what it is drums just affect me, they speak to me. from the sound to the physical act of playing them. i mean these guys were going ape shit. pounding the fuck out of these drums and like screaming as they were doing it but you couldn't hear them. there's something awesome about watching people lose their shit like that and craete such awesome music and sounds with it.

Another thing i find interesting is how the drum sounds alone evokes fear. it instills fear in me even though they aren't really threatening my life. it put me in this state of intensely terrifying spirituality or something. it was truely mind blowing.

and yes it sucks that there is that much distance between us.. what also suck is that i can't spend NYE with you and yos and folk. GODDAMN my armenian traditions of opening christmas gifts of New Years Day! How've you been hommie?

I'm missing my little man alot, but other than that, I'm okay I guess. I've been feeling lonely lately, though. Ii hang out with alot of people, but it doesn't assuage my sense of loneliness. I need to be with my little guy.

Nice. You're that guy.:sherm:

Ani, I had to move to Birmingham to find work that wasn't minimum wage. The fam is in our house at the beach. Danksis's dad is having problems with his heart and she is around all of her family, so she wants to be there. I needed to be making money. It sucks, though.

It's whatever. I don't get riled up by internet personalities. To do so would just be ridiculous.

It's more the fact that people act like you can actually get to know someone over the internet, people could get along great in person and then think they are the biggest idiot on the internet and never know it's the same person. The only reason I made that generalization was because it made me think of my hippie friends, they do suck at it but they are still my friends, it's nothing personal.

That's cool. My internet personality is really close to my personality irl, but I am a little more open to talking about more things in here than I normally would irl.
