OK so i would like to share opinions and favorite movies which have intelectually or emotionally interested you. I mean something you can call your all time favorite or connected with; not movies that made you laugh the whole time, or just thrillers that 'kept you on the edge of you seat.' i mean those movies that can only be watched with your 100% attention and no distractions.
so to start this off...
A personal all time favorite of mine is Fight Club, what particularly interests me are movie that involve insane character, mental institutions, and especially when the viewing perception of the movie is actually insane. i also like science fiction, movies based on Philip Dick novels especially (minority report, paycheck, and a scanner darkly are some) and OF COURSE movies which have drug content (ill actually look for that in the rating sometimes) loved Fear and Loathing, and most Johnny Depp movies as well.

'Little Children' really engaged me on a deep human level. I was on mushrooms and it was a really powerful movie. Its about human relationships, sexuality and the pursuit of happiness.
Before that I guess 'American Beauty' struck a chord with me.
'Human Traffic' is a beautiful movie about the weekend-warrior generation.

nah the director obviously knows fuck all about weed. great movie otherwise though. if you've not seen Little Children or Human Traffic you should download them, they really make you think! Little Children is very recent but HT has been out for ages

I would disagree and say it's the other way around. That said, here's my list of all time favorite movies (I may include a comedy or thriller because I don't feel they should be exlcuded):
Pulp Fiction Waking Life Requiem for a Dream Monty Python and the Holy Grail City of God Tsotsi No Country for Old Men (I think) Boondock Saints
There are others, those just rolled off the top of my head. That's in no order either, by the way.

A drug person can learn to cope with things like seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to handle this trip.
I Love that movie, too!

Dead & Breakfast (this one's my favorite movie... it's not all emotional and shit, but it's my kind of movie so I'll post) Hedwig And The Angry Inch (beautiful beautiful movie) Donnie Darko (do I need to say something? xD ) Walk The Line (I really relate to this movie in a lot of aspects) Summer Of Sam(I saw this movie for the first time some years ago and for some reason it did change my life!) El Día De La Bestia (this has been one of my favorite movies since I was little, everybody should see it xD ) Killer Klowns From Outer Space (fits in the same category as the first one) Undead (idem)

i didnt mean to just exclude movies just because they're comedys and thrillers... i haven't seen the MP Holy Grail, but ive heard its gotta a message... i just ment movies thats only purpose is to get you to laugh and not so much to think (like Office Space, it makes my laugh and mad at how American culture is), or thrillers that you can only appreciate the first couple times (Fight Club i think is considered action but theres a deep message that gets people to watch it over and over...)

I was deeply interested in the Band of Brothers series (not a movie, I know). I liked how deeply the show explored the relationships between the soldiers. I was definitely emotionally invested in the story. Great show.

The thin red line is full of some of the best quotes.
--------------------
"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here." - Richard Dawkins
