I've heard and looked around the forums, that acid can/will permanently change your ideaologies, beliefs, and feelings on life. PERMANENTLY.
I mean I know many people who've done acid; essentially all my friends have. I do mushrooms all the time.
It's just that some people tell me that acid makes you permanently the same. For example, if you have trouble with falling in love or get frustrated easily - Acid will keep you that way permanently to where you can never change. Fuck you up for good.
I don't want to believe it. I've been researching and I thought I'd turn to some of you guys. Articles, links and thoughts are much appreciated.

This kid actually told me that a chemical in some doses mold some part of your nervous system and permanently blocks new sways in the mind.
It's weird and I'm confused on it. I'm dying to do it.

Utter crap, man. Don't listen to him at all.
While LSD can permanently change your outlook on life, it doesn't neurologically change your brain permanently. Personally, I think LSD has helped me become far more flexible, better able to compromise and see things from other people's perspectives.
It's a very useful tool to break oneself away from egotistical thinking. If anything, it has made me far more able to change myself for the better- LSD doesn't make you stay exactly as you are, forever- quite the opposite.
If you're experienced with mushrooms, the only thing you need to be aware of with LSD is that it lasts a lot longer. The fact that it's synthesised doesn't somehow make it into a devil drug that will ruin you- it's a psychedelic tryptamine, just like Psilocybin and Psilocin.
Respect LSD and you can gain from it in a beneficial way. Abuse it and you migh hurt yourself. Just like mushrooms, in this way. Obviously it has a significantly different trip to Psilocybin, but the way it effects you is similar in many ways. LSD has been demonised ever since the late 1960s, simply because it is such a powerful, transformative drug. As long as you know what you're doing, treat yourself and the drug with respect, you will be ok.

I got into psychedelics roughly three months ago. Acid here is readily available and fairly cheap, so in these three months I have eaten a lot of acid. Acid is definitely changing me, and for the better IMO and the in the opinions of my trip buddies. They say I'm more open and gregarious.

Anything can permenantly change your outlook on life.....watching a movie...reading a book....masturbating at the right time......sneezing...
It all just depends on what goes through your head while your doing it, and what conclusions your mind comes too.
Acid will just make you analyze everything about life, and everything not about life. You'll rationalize every thought you've ever had, and can convince yourself of an answer to everything......if you want......or you could just sit and watch all the pretty colors....
Really it's up to you.
Honestly I've had more "permenant thought changes" from mushrooms, as opposed to acid.

I'm with vandago on this one... if your trip is really intense and mind-opening/revealing then yes, it will change your life. But so will a movie that is mind-opening, or a dream for that matter! But don't worry, you're not going to become a complete nutso after one time :P (well... unless you have some mental illness, but you do shroom, so...)

Acid doesn't do it for me, I find it less thought provoking and yet more analytical... Analytical of stupid stuff.
I feel that mushrooms have permanently changed me for the better. I find they cleanse me internally, so to speak. Acid kinda just makes me feel tired and a bit dirty even though I have a good time. Its not changed me but maybe I haven't eaten enough.

What LSD does is dig into your subconscious and forces you to review thoughts and feelings you have buried down deep inside. You tend to dislike those negative aspects about your life and forget those. You tend to agree with the positive parts about your life and reenforce those. You end up with an overall greater appreciation of life, and find that those things which used to stress you out no longer have that effect on you.
It's also great for relieving migraines!
