I should really study for my math exam
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Did I ever tell you that I was a five grade math Olympic? That was my peak

Can someone help me with this math problem my professor assigned for extra credit?
Find the derivative of the following function:
f(doorhinge) = 2doorhinge3 - 1/doorhinge
thx in advance

Infinity is limitless. As soon as you say infinity is a set of numbers, you assume a plurality of numbers. Yet, this goes against its plurality of the concept as being a limitless value, in so far as some plural value, such as two...is limited to is plurality.
Infinity is limitless and in relation to value, which is what this topic is about, i think of it as more of the 'to' in the plural value, 0 to 2.
I dont see how you could count infinite numbers in any way, if you would care to explain diploid, i would be happy to try and concieve of how this guy cantor?, counted a set of number that has no limits.
in relation to the post...infinity isnt the greatest or least value, because it is not value...values begin at 0 and go to their assigned limit. If this is true, then infinity cannot be a value, because a value begins and ends, and if something ends, it is limited.

It is no different than a computer, you need to make sure its anti-virus program is in check and that it doesnt have a script that limits your experience, because of to much precaution. And remember the computer does not appear to respond to words of anger and frustration - just give it input, in the form of new meanings that you know to be true and its messages to you and the limits it lays out for you, will change. Guilt is an outcome of believing you are the cause of the problems. Yet, we are not a cause to something, we see is negative or bad - Unless you believe your intentions are directed towards a bad outcome....

You don't have to count every single number in a set to conclude that there is infinite numbers in the set. In fact, if there is infinite numbers, then it would be impossible to count all of them.
For instance, in the set of all real numbers, there is infinite numbers, since you can add 1 to the previous number without bound. Therefore, you could add 1 an infinite amount of times and thus the amount of numbers is infinite.
EDIT: I think I misunderstood what you were saying, so I may be preaching to the choir :p

what we conceive as infinity may only be the finite plane of our finite universe.

For more details, look up "proof by induction" which is what is being described above. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_induction

You cannot enumerate the members of an infinite series. However, in many cases you can calculate the sum of the members of an infinite series.

Maybe there should be a rule that anytime you use the concept, you have to repeat the word until death. At least it would stress the point.

Although I dont buy this notion that certain sets of infinitly large numbers are larger than others, I think it does make the point that infinity does not imply everything, or that infinities are not necessarily the same in quality.

From my understanding, this idea of a certain set of numbers being larger than another, is expressed in finite terms as say, for every 10 rational numbers, there are say 10(2) imaginary numbers. (I know its not two but it still demonstrates the point) We realize that for every 10 numbers in this set, there are say twice that many in this other set.
What is being proposed, is that in infinite terms, this irrational set is still considered larger than the rational set, because for every 1 of these there are 2 of those: infinity in relation to infinity(2).
It rests on the assumption that where ever infinity is, double infinity is always twice as far. Since single infinity is unending, it will eventually catch up, right? But by that point infinity is twice as far. That, from my understanding is the case being made.
This is what I meant by how we necessarily impose time on infinity. We cant think of infinity (something without end) as anything other than constantly expanding, because this is how our rational consciousness works. Our concsiousness must theoretically expand through time to become aware of this universe. This is what these mathamaticians are imposing on infinity.
In material terms, say a hypothetical universe existent with infinite depth of matter, this is not necessarily expanding, it simply exists.
