Sydney Australia: ID Request
    #7731043 - 12/07/07 10:28 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Hey everyone,

Just today I went paintballing with a few friends in Sydney Australia. I ran out of ammo and was sitting down and to my surprise I saw a couple of mushrooms sitting right next to me. I figured I'd pick them and post them here to see if they are active. My hopes aren't high though. They both appear to be different species.

Issue solved , mushrooms were inactive. Thanks to the very helpful Shroomery members for your help.

1) http://www.mushroomexpert.com/polyporus_arcularius.html
2) It is definitely not a Psilocybe species, not active or edible. Looks like an Entoloma.
3) More info is necessary. Use a digital camera with macro mode to get some detailed shots of the gills, and make a spore print overnight on some paper.

It could be Panaeolus, possibly an active Panaeolus subbalteatus, but more likely to be an inactive Panaeolus foenisecii or something else.

Just a note, showing the bottom of a mushroom cap is not a spore print. That's just a picture of the gills.
