I just got a big thing of prepared beans and rice w/ peppers, onions, olive oil, spices, etc.. an organic sweet potato pie with honey and cinammon and shit.. a liter of mango juice and 5 apples all for under $10.
And it's all amazingly good.

Beat that [insert supermarket name here]

I've got a Trader Joe's and a whole foods market within walking distance of me, but sadly no co-ops.

Trader Joe's is about as good as it gets for supermarket chains though IMO.. they have some good stuff and it's all pretty cheap.
Whole Foods is amazing.... but goddamn you have to be rich to shop there.

I don't see why everyone seems to think this. I buy apples from them pretty regularly, and I'm not rich.

Well.. their produce seems to be pretty cheap.. or only a little more expensive than a regular grocery store.

It's if you decide to get ALL your groceries from there.. it can get damn expensive. Meat, cheese, etc.. and all that prepared stuff can rack the bill up pretty damn quick. It's definitely a lot more expensive than a regular grocery store... but worth it if you can afford it.

King of the Hill featured a grocery co-op last Sunday.  It was a good one

We have a co-op here but it is god-awful expensive, even for a small co-op.  It's like $7-8 for a gallon of milk

i do all my shopping at co-ops... one on-campus (they make great sandwiches and falafel for lunch too) and one nearby in my neighborhood.  they've got great organic fruits, veggies, nuts, granola,  ready-made healthy meals, all that good stuff :hippie:

My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,

any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I've never heard of a co-op. Talk about what that is a little more.

Right on. So does Shroomism pay the annual fee in order to be able to shop there?
