My friend called me at 11:30 saying they were on sale, and that London Glasgow Milan and Dublin had sold out already (it's a presale though, not the full onsale) and we bobbed back and forth between buying them and not buying them...they were fuckin' expensive, i tell you what. Pretty much the same price as the Neil Young tickets I also bought yesterday. My credit card is bruised.
But fuck it...I haven't had a vacation in a while, and I won't have one until the summer, just gonna save up my time and my money and go to Europe for a week, in the middle of which I'll be in Amsterdam on a Tuesday seeing fucking Radiohead in Westerpark.

Fuck. I'm going to be in Europe around that time, how much did those cost you?

That's as good a reason as any to visit the Dam... I foresee much fun for you. But I hear Dutch shrooms make you jump off bridges, so be careful!

43 pounds plus various shipping charges. Comes out to just about $100 U.S. I'm really surprised at Radiohead charging that much...really surprised. I mean I'm used to paying 50 or 60 to see them. I'm interested in them releasing more details about this tour...I know they're trying to make it as "green" as possible and I wonder if that is affecting cost. Anyway, there are some acts (Bjork, Radiohead, Neil Young), whose concerts I walk out of and the last thing I'm thinking of is how much I spent to see them.

The last time I travelled any distance to see Radiohead, I flew to Colorado to see them at Red Rocks and then from there to Vancouver to see back to back nights of R.E.M. (with Wilco opening) and Radiohead (with Stephen Malkmus opening). There's something about going far away to see a band in an unfamiliar setting. I knew next time they toured I'd have to go to another country...and when I saw Amsterdam on the list, it seemed like a no-brainer.

Rich? I'm not rich...this will pretty much wipe out what money I've saved up to this point, hopefully I'll have more saved up by then considering it's 7 months from now. This is what I do...save money, and then blow it on rock and roll related vacations like Coachella or Radiohead in Amsterdam.

I agree here. Its a shame that i only started to realize the value of vacations in the last year or so.
I used to squander my vacation time, now i make plans when i have a free week or two.

Im going to Amsterdam next Thursday, hoping that the mushroom ban hasn't come into play yet... although a quick search of the web yields no updated news items.
I've been to the Dam twice this year, and getting high in a coffee shop is something I cant say I've actually done I've always just smoked my brains out outside, at the hostel etc. The Grey Area visit in order

I think it will take awhile to pass the ban, if they even pass it at all.
