Koa Samui... anybody?

Hey all, I was just wondering why there are not a whole lot of Koa Samui reports out there. I've read in countless places that this is an easy one to mess with and it's reputed to be the more potent of the psilocybe types. I for one would really enjoy seeing/hearing more on this one. Thanks

You should post this in "The Strain Thread", but since its not locked yet...
I've got a lot of experience with Koh Samui and have nothing but good things to say about it. The Koh Samui spores I had produced very potent and dense fruits quite rapidly. They don't get huge, but they are dense and pretty.

Super Strain or another version? According to what I understand is that most (all) of the spores available are a 3rd gen. isolate of this species.

Oh, I almost forgot. What media did you use? The info I found said it does well on compost and straw. I know you can use others, but only certain types of media will give good or better results (according to what I understand.)

I just had Koh Samui, not the super strain. It's cubensis so of course it will do well on compost and straw :P.
I've grown them off brown rice cakes, horse poo, coir, rye, whatever works for cubies.
One strain is not going to favor certain growing conditions over another. They are all the same species: psilocybe cubensis. Read the strain thread. It's a sticky in this forum. I assure you this thread will be locked by a moderator soon as all strain discussion should go in the strain thread.
